Been away from the console all day so I haven't started the misery of weekend league yet.

I did two of the flash sbcs and got feck all in the packs.

Ashley Young will be useful for rui costa at least.

Did a few of the flash SBC's and typically got **** all. Only used around 12,000 coins all the same.

I'm guessing these flash SBC's are a ploy from EA to get people to empty their squads and thus buy more packs?

Yep hence why prices haven't dropped **** all.

avoid electrum packs like the plague..a mix of gold and silver...piss off EA.

Came up against Prime Henry, Prime Del Piero, IF Pogba, Kante etc in online single matches....Henry is incredibly good. Lost 4-2, but I think I did a pretty good job with the Irish squad I was using. Ward held off Henry for a fair portion of the game :P

This happened last year too. The price crash was two weeks before BF. Next one won't be till Xmas now.

They've also put up new upgrade SBCs where you can get rare cards from specific leagues (though need 11 rare golds to do...)

Done about 6-8 of the IF SBCs...mostly 81s 82s. Got 87 Mustafi tho so not a bad return - have his first IF packed too.

Just playing wl there and I wanted to to know has this happened anyone else,first half was grand I was winning 1 nil,2nd half kicked off and my controller was at least a second off,I couldn't change player pass or feck all cos it wouldn't happen there was such a delay,the game was going fine no slowing down or fast forwarding and the other guy wasn't effected,I tried changing controller but was still the same,I presume it was a connection issue on my end but I've never come across delay like that before cos the game itself was going smoothly,anyway I held him to 1 all till about 2 mins left in et,I was trying my best to get him to pens,I've just switched it off now incase it happened again,pain in the ass tbh

Did 20 of the Premium PL packs. Got 7 boards; Otamendi, Azpilicueta, and 5 Liverpool boards in Mane, Salah, Coutinho, Lallana, Matip

Pretty good luck, just annoying the most expensive player is Mane and I've got his POTM card.

Did one tradeable TOTW SBC and one non-tradeable.

Got 86-rated Insigne for my tradeable and 87-rated Mustafi for my non-tradeable. Can’t really complain. Also Mustafi walked out doing the robot dance with some rap/hip hop song playing, never seen that before, very random!

Had just enough players in my club to do one untradeable totw sbc.

Got Icardi. Now I just need that wilson. Oh and a hazard would be nice too I guess

This is the reason I stopped playing Weekend league. Often the connection will determine the winner, not the quality of player.

Even looking at Elite players, the vast majority of qualifiers for the Fifa championship are based in Germany, where their servers in Europe are based.

Delay has been an issue for me since Fifa 15 and has never gone away.

I just can't commit that time to WL. Love the concept, but 40 games is ludicrous for anybody with anything to do. Even beyond having kids or a partner or whatever, simply having to socialise, study, play sports, do amy other hobby means you can't get it done. 40 games, each game averaging 20 mins is 800 mins, or about 13 hours.

Presuming most people can't play early Friday with school/work, that is giving up a whole day of your weekend if you play incredibly efficiently and don't take any breaks at all. Did it a few weekends last year to see if i could get elite and I was a shell of a human at the end. That mode needs to chang3 and stretching out until Monday won't improve it. 25 games like PC seems far more reasonable.

They also need to give people who work weekends alternatives and maybe run one during the week also.
If you qualify for the weekend then you can't get into the weekday one etc and vica versa.
Same goes for squad battles. It was painted as something to spread out over the week but on saturday there is 2 refreshes so you can lose 2-3 ranks on Saturday alone.

Only had a chance to start playing today so after my first 5 matches I'm 4-1. The annoying thing is I'm playing well and should be 5-0 but I came up against a sane-rashford-salah team and somehow salah scored 3 headers despite being perfectly marked by Smalling. I'll probably stop once I get the 12 wins I need for gold 2 monthly.

I really enjoyed weekend league this week I only had a few games where I really got annoyed playing against a knob have my 18 wins in with 8 games to go so happy enough don't have to go threw the pain of qualifying so won't play much induring week.

I rarely do much work on a Friday anyway so it's easy for me I can get a big bulk of games out of the way quickly.

Something seems to have clicked for me that past two weeks after I had my massive rant about the game I've gone from division 6 and 7 up to division 2 and wining comfortable enough games in weekend league.

One massive difference I made this weekend was drop perisic back into midfield role he seems to bomb forward and get goals from edge of the box more then he did in attacking midfield role.

Sold Kante and spent about 160k on players for the SBC totw packs.
Sod all.,.if I see one more bloody Dante I'll cry.
Now I'm just going to save all my players and be happy with the awesome squad I have until tots...ah who am I kidding...:D

From 4-1 to 6-4 :rolleyes: Oxlade Chamberlain scored a header against me from outside the box. Feels like I might aswell let the game play itself at this stage.

It does but that won't happen. I read something recently on Reddit about EA and how player retention is one of their biggest edicts.

Having people stuck to their game for the majority of their free time over a weekend is a huge winner for them.

I am absolutely done with it now. Could only stomach a month of it this year.

Actually, logins per day rather than total time spent playing is the indicator that they look at. If they could get somebody to log in everyday for two hours, sell them some packs and have them do that all year, they would much prefer it to some guy burning out his weekends and then not touching the game Monday-Thursday.

After getting Nainggolan, I decided to do three more. Opened all 3, got 3 De Ligts, and promptly turned the game off for the day. Won't be doing any more of those, the temptation is too much to burn down your coins chasing Pogba or Hazard or whatever.

Half way through the weekend league grind and I've made a discovery: I genuinely hate this game. I've never been great but this weekend I was getting elite 2 projected rank. Then literally every shot on target goes in against me, and a couple that were off target managed to go in too (Heaton was promptly quicksold after one too many incidents).

Soft penaltines. Dive the right way yet the ball trickles underneath the keepers arm :mad:. I also had one guy who hit the wall with a free kick but the ball manages to get stuck between two of my players hips before flying through my keepers legs half a second later.

And don't get me started on the kick off goals :mad:

Kick off goals are mental. It's an issue with the coding of the ebb and flow of the game.

That being said, if you are using keepers like Heaton, I suspect that your team might not be that great. This is a form of pay to win, in ways, and all of the pros don't use legends even against scrubs for no reason. Be worthwhile upgrading a few of those players and I'd better you'd see improvements.

I know it's partly my own fault for not saving up for de gea but he will be my purchase after the rewards come out.

I had to quit a match there after the 20th minute because I was 7-1 down. I don't know if it was lag or what but it was insane especially considering I rarely lose by more than the odd goal since I play defensive.
