Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Despite his best efforts, Welbeck scored.

Mahrez is an absolute pussy, barely trying in case he injures himself and prevents a summer move.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,976 ✭✭✭doc_17

Mahrez pulled out of that tackle leading up to the goal

By Jaysus Arsenal need someone to work with that defence. It's still brutal.

Trying to do well by a future employer? Is he still banking on a move to Arsenal or has that ship sailed?

Woah my stream is way behind, thanks a lot Sky Go

Welbeck is surely the best player ever to slip on his hole when in the process of shooting. Almost done so for his goal.

When at United it was forgivable as he was still learning his trade (much like Rashford's finishing nowadays), and still offering plenty of other attributes, but at this stage, it's a flaw that he'll never improve on

Mahrez has been a liability for Leicester. Not working hard like the rest, constantly giving the ball away.

Arsenals second was off. Their back three look shambolic.

Entertaining game though. 4 goals in 45 minutes. Can't complain.

Oh and lol at the ref giving that free out to Cech after he pushed the Leicester player all over the place then lost the flight of the ball.

He scored and showed good control there. Just because it looked awkward doesn't make it somehow bad.

He's a trier, no doubt BUT he's not good enough for a team with ambitions of winning a league.

Other than you know, that time he played 27 games in a season where a team won the league...

But he was a small enough part of a quality side. He's not good enough to be a main player or close to it on a league winning team.

Liam O defending Welbeck, somethings things never change lol

Nobody has said that. I do think he's good enough to be a first team option on a league winning team though.

Which is not an indication of anything in fairness. Lots of very medicore players have been starters on successful teams.

If Arsenal win the league it won't be because of Welbeck he'll just have happened to be there when it happens.

I hate that he's anywhere near Arsenal.

I also hate that as one of the top 10 richest clubs in the world we have a clapped out goalkeeper.

Not necessarily blaming Cech 100% for the goals but is it just me or does he look very flat footed and off the pace tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 707 ✭✭✭ulinbac

No player there with a pair of balls for Arsenal. Missing a leader as usual. No idea what Bould does in defensive training!!

He done very well to stop Vardy with a tackle earlier though but ya, he was at fault for the first, easily.

Just shocking defending on that corner. Arsenal are a joke at this stage.

Reminds me of Given at Euro 2012 for Ireland. The spring in the legs seems to have gone.

Arsenal are dreadful at the back. I'm getting horrible flashbacks of our defending last season!

Cech has been in a steady decline for awhile now, IMO.

Correct me if im wrong, arsenal have a terrible opening day record going back about a decade or so?

Foes t help the "wenger out" crowd when you play badly in the first game too. Although going forward they look good but that midfield 4 and 3 at the back look very soft, IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Remember the time Wenger signed a new two year deal. Great days.

Even in the George Graham days they were prone to opening day hiccups. Horror shows against Coventry and Norwich spring to mind.

Sure Arsenal had a great first day goal fest with Liverpool last season.

Whens the last time they won the opening fixture?

First game of the season could easily turn out to be the best if there's a winner here. Unreal entertainment.
