My 2 yr old only had the vomiting bug this day 3 weeks ago. Was a nasty dose at the time. fast forward 3 weeks to the day and we.re up again  Is this normal? It doesn't seem as bad at least. Could he have picked it up again and get a milder infection because he had it so recently? Is there any connection between the 2?

It could be anything*, but that's a risk. If you are concerned for child, phone hospital / out of hours GP. Fo not go to hospital unless instructed, they don't want a vomiting bug there.

What was the treatment regime for the initial infection?

    * Don't eat Parmesan cheese within a few days of an upset tummy. :)

Nothing. Ride it out. He was grand after 48 hrs. At least only one vomit so far. Got thro the night but has high temp on and off. Seems fine otherwise. Guess I was hoping a bug might only come once in a while, even with a few months of a gap...

It might not be a bug if he's only vomitted once. Could be anything, something he ate not agreeing with him etc. Just keep an eye, feed him the BRAT diet and keep him hydrated.
