Looking at todays Liverpool team, its hard to argue that team is good enough for top 4 never mind challenging for the league.
The front three is decent but from there its just meh to poor

Our midfield has been almost as bad as the defence. No semblance of control on the game whatsoever, but furthermore they are not exactly helping the defence out either. Just getting bypassed in every phase.

If things aren't going well, you at least have to then dig in, show desire, and battle it out. Fight for the right to play.

I'm a big fan of Gini but he's not gotten his stamp on this game. We all know Henderson and Can don't work together. I'd have Can as the DM, Gini back as the No.8 and get Grujic on as the attacking midfielder.

Matip has been horrendous. Lost the ball then walked back for the Peyreya chance, didn't even challenge for the goal on the corner then fell over for their second. He's a big man so will win plenty of aerial battles by default but he has no strength or much passion from what I've seen.

Well it's always run to a planned schedule so I don't see what they could do.

Carragher is right though. 1st goal was a coaching problem. Set up is all wrong.

I think Lovren could have done more though and not see danger and react.
