Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thats technically offside.

Im not surprised it wasnt seen in real time.....but still....offside.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

How does he reckon Watford deserve it? Liverpool had more than enough chances. Possible offside but marginal if there.

Liverpool and Arsenal need to get their act together. No excuse for being so bad defending corners at that level of football with all the money they have.

All that from a free kick from nothing ref has been very weak

    100% offside

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭GreNoLi

Looked off, I'm not complaining though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

Definite offside but we should have booted it up the pitch instead of heading it down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,762 ✭✭✭jive

    Miles, really?

In fairness he was standing beside mignolet and nobody on the line, not a difficult decision at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,212 ✭✭✭shamrock55

Useless useless *****,same ****ing **** I'm fuming

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Game should have been finished off before that in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Wham Album to blame. Tried to head a ball that was dropping lower and lower as it reached him, when it did it was chest high if that.

How is that not offside , was very clear and not that congested.

Liverpool and set pieces remain a defensive problem though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Beyond pathetic.

I shouldn't get this fúcking angry. It's only a game.

But if I was as shít at my job as our team is at defending, I'd be fired.

Even if it's offside, it shouldn't have mattered.

He was all of 2 inches ahead of the ball. Offside yes but anybody could be forgiven for looking like he was level with it

not offside if the ball is played level or played backwards...like a two on one

But he was ahead of the ball.

    Doesn't matter now anyhow.

What happened to the trial of tv officials that was used during the confederations Cup?

    Liverpool were awful.

Think they'll be lucky to finish in a European spot unless they significantly strengthen their team.

Lookd like a forward pass to me. Need to see it again.

It is. If the ball is played backwards or laterally, it's obviously not offside. Now, it's played forwards but its hard for a linesman or ref to see that with the cluster**** of bodies.

Stop being that guy who moans at the decision. Yes, they got this one wrong but it wasn't a howler by any means.

That's a FIFA trial and nothiing to do with the Premier League.

They're hoping to introduce it next season.

Ahead of the ball. Not massively, but still ahead.

Why? It's a bad decision, it was clear in real time. I don't support Liverpool or Watford so I'm not moaning about anything, I'm calling it as I see it. If the linesman can't make a call like that from a corner where he's beside the corner flag then he has no business officiating in the PL, it's not like he had to sprint from the half way line to get up with the play

It's about the position of the receiving player in relation to the ball, not the direction of the ball. Basic stuff.

    That was great.

Why the hell did Klopp even take off Arnold, gomez comes on gives away a stupid free that led to the corner
Guggenheim will be rubbing their hands with glee watching this trash but hey Mr Klopp says the defence is OK so all is good right

When did it make a difference if the ball was played backwards or not. If your offside your offside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭Minderbinder

Mignolet knows his job is diverting the ball away from the goal, right?

  • Great start to the season. Last night and now this.
    Watford done well. Good result

Shut up about the last f**king goal. It goes down as a goal.

Defence a joke. Looks like we've made no progress at all.

As long as the player is ahead it's offside.

The player was offside. It shouldn't have counted.

Thankfully Liverpool never scored a goal that was offside before so please continue harping on about it.

Is that a rule. SO a player can be way offside, but as long as you play ball backward it's ok.

heres a good one that you can see that the ball was clearly played backwards and Mignolet palms it against the bar. not offside for me after watching this, i initially thought it was off

Ball has to be played forward for it to be deemed offside

Defensively a disaster. Actual keystone cops going on with fluffed clearances. Can with the back heel to Moreno. And Gini with the header for the equaliser. Gomez giving the free in a dangerous area. Talk about howlers. How can they be so bad. And you knew when we missed those chances that we would pay. Enjoy the weekend lads.
