Family xmas in Bulgaria?

Thinking of going to Pamporovo for Xmas 2017. Family of 4. Kids are 5 and 8. Currently is working out at about 1400 for flight and half board in 4*. I know it's very far south and we might end up getting more of a tan than any skiing but option 2 is Arinsal for at least 2 times the price. Anyone been ? TIA Rob
