    Hi Everyone,

Apologies if this is the wrong place - I did do a quick search but was unsuccessful in finding anything. Anyway, a really quick question for the people here:-

I live in Shankill, Co. Dublin and was wondering where the nearest senior club is? Judging by Athletics Ireland's website it's pointing me to Enniskerry, but a Google search actually directs me to a Boards thread from 2015 so I have no idea if the club even exists. There's Cabinteely as well but from what I can gather the club is junior only?

I'm not looking for anything serious; I did athletics for years until I was about 16 at which point I deviated towards another sport that I've been playing for 10 years now and I've now decided to move on and head back to a casual athletics training to improve my fitness. Prior to stopping athletics I had earned multiple national gold medals at junior and school level in sprinting so I wouldn't be coming in completely blind but, at the same time, I realise I'm now 26 and will certainly never get to those levels again.

    Thanks!

Few which might be of interest. If you are looking to get back into sprints though Dundrum is probably your best bet.

Thanks for the above. I can't make heads or tails of the DSD website I'll give it a look over again.

Bray runners meet Tuesday/Thursday at 7.00 at the main gate of Shanganagh Park and Sunday at 9.00. Friendly and welcoming group with some very speedy short to middle distance athletes.

You would be very welcome to come along and try it out for a couple of weeks with no obligation and have a chat with our coaches and athletes.

Hi just moved back to Dublin from New York and looking to get involved with a club.
Could anyone suggest a club in the Clonskeagh area that would be suitable?

Looking at distances from 5K - marathon (i.e. not sprinting).
Was with club in NYC and really enjoyed and benefited from training in a structured group environment.
Not looking for anything too serious and a club would a social aspect would ideal.

Dundrum is possibly closest, our club (Sportsworld) train in bushy Park, around 3 or 4 miles from Clonskeagh. Decent social aspect as well as being geared towards the distances you are interested in.

    The website is sportsworldrunningclub.com

If you have any questions drop me a PM. Training is Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7, also Saturday morning at 9 or 9.30 and a long run on Sunday.

Crusaders is also close to Clonskeagh. Particularly handy if working in city.

Tuesdays is training on track, Thursdays park, Saturday Phoenix park.
