Any advice for a nice restaurant for my sons graduation. We are staying in Mespil so anywhere city centre. It will be for dinner not early bird. There is 2 vegetarians in our group so need somewhere that has a good veggie menu. Not fine dining but not casual either. Was looking at Peploes or Darwins but would appreciate some advice as I don't know dublin very well. Thks

I really like Darwin's, but it isn't particularly reasonable if not early bird. How many people in booking?

Bloom brasserie is really nice as well and I think its near mespil road too?

There will be 6 or 8 of us. Just struggling to find somewhere with decent veggie options.

The Sussex is very nice but not sure what it has on the menu for vegetarians....

Peploes is lovely. Other good options are Fallon and Byrne, The Green Hen or Trocadero.

Just recommended on another thread but I love Suesey Street. Great food and hosting.

Darwins is very good for vegetarian food. Whitefriars Grill is decent too and has a nice vibe too.

Darwins has a great Vegetarian menu but it isn't open for lunch so you're talking about an early bird dinner at about 5 pm. An Italian restaurant is always a good option for veggies, Cirillo's is on Baggot Street and is very nice.

I'll echo helimachoptor with Angelina's. It'll cover your needs and it's only a two or three minute walk from the Mespil.

Brasserie 66 has great veggie options- a whole menu of them if i remember correctly.

Thanks everyone - think I might go with Darwins. Angelina looks good too so might do brunch there the next day. Hope I am making the right decision!

Fire in The Mansion House is great for that kind of informal family group dining

Just one thing about Fire...I've been there a number of times both personally and for work and on at least four occasions they had no record of my reservation. Now to be fair they always fitted me in, but one was very near Christmas and I had to usher 10 bemused Chinese visitors into a bar to wait!
