Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Keeper had plenty of time to react to that, not sure what he was looking at.

Messi in the last 12months has probably been playing better than he ever has, if not, it's very bloody close.

I'm dreading playing Barca in the CL, I think they'll spank Chelsea.

Barca have had an answer to every question they've been asked this season. A special year for them so far.

Only Messi's second league win at the Anoeta I think, remarkable.

If they keep up current points per game rate they're on course to set record points total.

Just reading Roanldo's stats there, and from the last 94 shots at goal, he has scored 4 times.

I don't like stats but that is shocking.

That is matching his free kick stats

That 4 in 14 looks so out of place.....

Barca just lost their first competitive match since April in the cup tonight, shame they didn't last the full 12 months.

Knowing this makes me all the sadder these matches are no longer on Sky. Ballague's reaction to Espanyol's winner would have been amazing to see. It's rare his team win the derby.

Messi has missed 50% of his penalties this year
Surely they should just take them off him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,862 ✭✭✭✭inforfun

But scored 100% against Real i heard during the last classico
Suarez and when he was stil there Neymar had similar stats.
They are just crap at them.
Might as well give Ter Stegen a go at them.

About the same as every year..or even better..

Equally, he apparently missed his previous 51 free kicks before Sociedad, but you'll let him take the next one..

You are hardly comparing penalties against free kicks thats crazy
I dont agree with the free kick thing either, Ronaldo shouldnt be let near a free kick

Spectacular goal from Inaki Williams in Bilbao's 2-2 draw with Getafe. Some debate about whether he meant it or it was an intended cross. I'm not sure. I'm keen to hear what he says.

Going by his reaction, not a chance he meant it IMO.

That Madrid result will relieve a lot of pressure around the club I'd say.

Confidence is a big thing in football, and I'd say the players are buzzing tonight after a few depressing months.

Just in time for the PSG game?

It does relieve pressure alright. They didn't play especially well though. It's a bit like them swatting aside a ucl group side.

They have struggled to swat aside any team in recent months.

I'm not a big fan of them, its just boring when they are bad
Malaga are the team i follow in Spain due to family connections
Although maybe something i should deny this season :o

It sounds terrible underplaying just how good Messi was, but it happens so often that you become desensitized. He was unplayable and Suarez wasn't far off that level.

Barca along with Atleti and Porto have only conceded 9 goals in their league campaigns. However Barca have nearly doubled Atleti's goals scored (57 to 29) and have 11 more than Porto. The ability to step up the performance in the second half is the key to all these great results, there's no drop off in intensity in the second half, and the players almost look more hungry as if they've a point to prove.

    Luis Suarez for Barcelona:

    174 Appearances
    137 Goals
    66 Assists.

    What a signing he's been.

The most ridiculous thing about that game today was Betis were well and truly in the game, it was a fairly even contest - until it wasn't.

I know! His knee problem prevented us from seeing the best Luis Suarez, but he seems to be over it now at a crucial time in the season!

The moral of the story here is not to continuing playing when you have at least one cyst on your knee.

Guys I was at the game the last night in the Villamarín and the atmosphere was electric. Messi is unbelievable. The second goal where he turned our two central defenders inside out was special. He was on another level. Its the first time I've seen the fans in gol sur applaud a player on the opposition team after scoring. Barca were great as well, I was really impressed with Semedo, Tello couldn't make any head way against him. I have to say seeing Suarez and his antics up close really showed how nasty a person he is. The Betis fans in gol sur threw things at Barca when they were celebrating their second goal, this is unforgivable I know, but however Rakitic started kicking them off the field so that Betis wouldn't get in trouble(fair play to him). Then later on about five minutes later , Suarez squared up to Feddal trying to get him carded(which he was) and then picked up one of the objects(thrown minutes earlier) chasing after the referee and mouthing off to him. This was to get the Betis fans in trouble. Now don't get me wrong he's an awesome player but I don't like this side of him,the theatrics. Anyways it was a demoralising defeat for us and we'll have to regroup again. Thankfully Barragán is back for the next game.

He was way below par in 2017 .
Looks back to his best now .

Absolutely, what a signing he was. Stepped in to do any job required and made the transition away from Puyol about as seamless as you could reasonably expect. It's funny how much Mascherano and Pique achieved considering each of them have received criticism for being not real defenders.

 Mascherano has long been considered one of the top dm in the world and a very good defender
