Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ref clearly bought by Barca. Some things just never change with Spanish football. It laughable how dodgy Spain is.

Ah jesus that ref is hopeless, hes been dying to give that against Ronaldo

Some day Barca will actually buy good defenders

A 1v1 against Ronaldo not many defenders out there I'd fancy.

Apart from right back. Their back four is pretty good.

Ronaldo dives, then pushes the ref. Will he be suspended by La Liga?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Not a dive, argue whether its a pen, BUT NOT A DIVE FFS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,592 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Lost balance really, not a dive, but what an idiot to push the Ref :pac:

Ronaldo going to be in a lot of bother for that push on the ref.

Amazing how the ref spotted Ronaldo diving and cheating but gave Suarez a penalty.

    yeah, but Suarez didn't dive.

They know how to do drama anyway!

Don't think that was a dive or a foul by Umtitti either, could have let it go.

    Some drama. I love it.

I was wondering the same, i would presume so

Push on ref was one of WTF, rather than an angry aggressive attack, it was nothing of note.

    Still silly tho

    Game is getting dirty

Is La Liga bringing in a post-match diving ban? Suarez missing a match or two would really break Barça.

Will Ronaldo miss the second leg?

Ronaldo knew he didn't dive, and replay shows that, he was laughing at decision to book him and letting ref know it was a stupid call by getting his attention with a '' hey'' type contact .

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

What a pinger. Pick that one out.

Very dull first half and then all this :D Barcelona would want to get spending that 200+ million fairly lively.

    Neymar missed badly

Madrid currently the best team on the planet

Take Messi/Suarez out of the equation and Real are better in every position

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Barca picked off on the counter with two sumptuous finishes.

Madrid will fancy more of the same on Wednesday.

They'll need more than 200million. Every club will know they are minted and desperate.

Brave, plucky Real rise above an awful refereeing display. Great win with 2 less men on the field at the end.

Asensio is half Dutch but i am not keeping my hopes up he ll ever be seen in an orange shirt.

As for Ronaldo. 2nd yellow cancelled and suspension for pushing\touching the ref would be ok
Just dont touch the ref. You know you ll be done.

Asensio is only 21.....thought he was older. Madrid have a suprisingly young team.

Barcelona looking a bit lost. They seem to appoint any one as manager these days. That is all fine when the team is one of stars in top form, this is not one at the minute.

    but he didn't really.

Barcelona played well enough against a massed defence, got stung by two great shots on the counter attack. Some good chances missed by Busquets and Deulofeu. In general play, Suarez was dreadful.

Navas clearly caught him and suarez made the most of it but it was a penalty.

I think Navas would have caught Suarez if Suarez hadn't already launched himself.

Its clear from any angle. Navas WOULD have caught him if Suarez had kept going. Suarez managed to avoid Navas by launching himself prematurely.

A remarkably Irish Presidential performance from Pique tonight - in so much that he was more like a cermonial figure out there on the pitch, but, for all the pomp and circumstance, lacking in any real power.

Valverde is an excellent coach and a genuinely good appointment that has earned his stripes.

You don't get penalties because someone would have caught you if you didn't jump out of the way. That isn't how it works.

This could be the greatest dynasty that football has ever seen. The 3 CLs in 4 years and the next generation of Galactico coming through.

Madrid have just had a transfer ban and 70 odd Million transfer surplus burning a hole in the Bank account. If they sign MBappe, we are talking about Isco, Asensio, Mbappe being the world's elite players over the next decade. The likes of Verane (24) Carvajal (25) Casemiro (25) Kovacic (23) will be around for around for another while yet too.

I haven't even mentioned Ronaldo. The greatest athlete football has ever seen. A freak of nature. You telling me he is gonna fall off and retire at 35? Not a chance. He'll be a medical marvel.

    What are we witnessing????

I know? Thats the hilarity......I mean if Suarez hadn't decided to try to cheat and take a dive he would have actually won a stonewall penalty proper. By diving he evaded the feckin challenge and should got booked and no penalty :pac:
