I see there was a job done on the Three Trout Stream, all the rubbish has been pulled out which is great and thanks to whoever took the time out to do it...but does anyone know what's to become of the rubbish it now? Seems like the job is half done all the rubbish is piled on the grass Charlesland side of the stream, the management company know noting about it, it's destroying the walk along the river and creating a serious health and safety/public liability issue for kids playing, walked by this morning to see two kids climbing on a nice rusty pile of rubbish. Anyone know if it's being taken away soon?

Some information here, including the name of one of the organisers.

Well done to the volunteer workers.
Too many moaners around, and not enough doers.

It was only cleaned up on Sunday so I would think the rubbish will be taken away soon. Well done those who took part in the cleanup

A few of us on the cycling forum did a clean up in the Dublin Mountains last year. When we finished we put the piles of rubbish together and took a photo of it. Using the location the council were able to use an app to see where it was. A few days later they picked it up. Maybe they used something similar here?

It was a Charlesland volunteer group who organised it, and got in touch with WCC.
They were meant to collect it Monday and are well aware it's still awaiting collection.

    It was collected yesterday.

Someone has noted that a heron fish's there so wildlife is also being taken into consideration.

The stream is mentioned in the county development plan as an important wildlife habitat, being a spawning ground for some kind of sea trout.

Also, there is a long term objective to run a pedestrian/cyclist Greenway along the riverbank between Charlesland and Delgany Village. The sections at each end are in council ownership, but the middle is still in private land.
Apparently folks in Delgany village are keen to progress this project, especially since part of the disused council lands at the Delgany bridge end became used for "temporary modular housing" last year, ie mobile home/caravans.
There would be a good scope for collaboration between Charlesland residents and Delgany residents to push this through, given the combined number of registered voters in the area would be quite significant.
