Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Completely agree but we don't really have a clear pairing so far. Would say it's Matip and Lovern but they missed a few games together.

I'd love to see Matip and TAA in CB

As limited as Klavan is, I'd take him over Lovren.

That is what happens when you score 3 & don't make pure brain dead mistakes like we did down there.

Lets not forget that City are an AMAZING team that spent insane amounts of money. Tbh being on their level would be almost a miracle. And we're not THAT far behind them when it comes to the ability to destroy teams.

Ref will no doubt book this keeper in the 90th minute for time-wasting.

Firmino and Coutinho running the show

Countinho in centermidfield is gonna be fun to watch.

We are very bad at destroying teams. Outplaying them, yes. Getting 3 or 4 goals, yes. But we always give the opposition a few chances.

Lovern and Matip but will be Matip and Gomez before long I'd imagine.

God, id love to see Sturridge square it sometimes.

He'd be a more effective player.

Front three could probably do with being a little less selfish second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

We've been great. More goals will come. Need to be a bit smarter in the final third.

Accept that we're gonna be dodgy at the back and just enjoy the ridiculously entertaining football we play.

The good news is once again Liverpool came back quickly from a goal down, the bad news...well you know! Coutinho clearly not at full tilt, Firmino quiet as well pushed wide.

    Salah, praise Allah!

I'd love to see the shot per goal ratio at anfield for away teams. It must be incredible. Teams only need one chance.

    Impossible.

Nothing more depressing for players than seeing their wonder play being undone time and time again.

    It will hurt motivation.

Speaking of bluffers - how the **** is Klavan a Liverpool player? That defending for their goal - you wouldn't see it in a school yard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Fun Bobby really isn't the same player when he has to play out wide for DS15 to play.

The midfield also looks a lot better without Hollywood Henderson.

1 shot on target 1 goal for Burnley. Same old story at the back. Going forward looking good as usual.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Few wasted chances again today, not as clear cut as most games this season though. The one big one was when the Burnley defender missed the ball ala Lovren, and Sturridge was behind him but missed it too.

Two different shades of shíte. I think Lovren is probably a bit better all the same but I have a very low opinion of Klavan so that's not saying much.

Robertson getting no action despite putting in a good ball every time he gets it. Coutinho opting to move inside rather than pass it out to him every time he's on the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Right now the club only has one out and out good defender and that is Robertson.

Conceded 6 of the last 7 shots on target according to twitter

Clyne is our best defender imo by a long way

You are a really good poster when you are not clutching at straws to take a jab at Sturridge.

It looked a lot better because we have an outlet and a ball carrier.

You stick Coutinho in front of Hendo and he's not going to bypass him looking long for Salah or Mane.
At least not all the time.

As we saw, when there's an option to do that it can pay dividends.

Had a look at that Burnley goal again.
It's about 95% down to Can.
He even takes a little look over his shoulder and spots the runner but just ignores him.
Robertson was too far away and if Klavan doesn't cover across then Wood just turns Matip and has a 1v1.

    The jab is at Klopp.

Fun Bobby when he is shunted out wide to accommodate DS15 he isn't the same player.

I'd have Fun Bobby playing through the middle every day of the week and twice on Sunday over DS15.

Yeah Arfield's playing the number 10 role, Can's been fighting with him for headers every time it's lumped up the pitch and should have been on him for the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Crowd just cheered when Coutinho finally passed ti to Robertson

Savage point from Phil. Would love to get him in at half-forward tomorrow afternoon.

I think Firmino's had a really good game.

Some of his link up and creation of space has been immense.

Don't think he's suffering from having to play alongside Sturridge at all.

Why is the ref leaving the keeper do that?

Coutinho getting tons of time on the ball, hogging every second of it.

Proper order from the ref, yellow for time wasting to Pope, some refs would wait until the 80th minute.

Hasn't laid it off once. Always looking to cut inside and shoot through a crowded box.

Why do we never have a plan from short corners? It's like they're not practiced at all.

No one wants to pass the ball when there's even a sniff of a shot.

Need an attacking sub to inject a bit of pace again.

    It's not just greed.

We seem to excel at making the wrong choice in these situations whether it's being too greedy or not greedy enough.

That and general lack of finishing ability was the reason why we had loads of really dangerous breaks last season but only scored from 3 of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    Pass it first time Sturridge!

Are triple value goal bonus on offer for goals scored from outside the box or something?

Why bother booking the keeper, not like he's going to send him off if he continues time wasting anyway
