Well we have spent the summer trying for VVD with no luck so don't know how true your point is. The biggest problem last year was breaking down stubborn packed defences, scoring goals will help take the pressure off the defence IMO.

Partially agreed, but there was such pressure to score because the defence was also sure to give away a goal or two.. Bournmouth comes to mind..

I see there's a minute chance we can sign Keita in January, depending on Leipzigs stance at that stage. I imagine that would depend on their progress in the champions league and how the league is going

I remember earlier in the window how people were saying we'd use Keita as a smokescreen for another player after the deal collapsed. It's quite nice that the other player was the same one. Genius transfer strategy.

Great news about Keita, although i know very little about him other than youtube clips he sounds promising. If we had left it until next summer we would have been priced out of that deal.

Very happy with Keita........the Lemar links/bid? seems a strange one but a very good signing by all accounts if it happens.......get a CB, make it happen and I'll be delighted.....would be an excellent window if all 3 are got.

Haha Red Bull suckers. Keita could be a monster for us and to get him at that price is a huge boost. A real footballing rockstar, with an edge to his game.

That Keita deal is splendid work. Brilliant by both Leipzig and Liverpool. Leipzig are absolutely right to want to keep him for another year, and Liverpool get awesomely creative with getting him ahead of next season.

On holidays so not on line as much. Delighted to hear about Keita. Would prefer to have him in straight away but this is a good deal for everyone.

Hopefully other deals get done.

As you know I have criticised FSG here before but for me the proof of the pudding is in the eating and deals done count a lot more than rejected bids but I’m more than willing to give credit when it’s due.

VVD in and keeping Coutinho would be the icing on the cake and set us up for a great season.

Wonder if part of the deal was to tailor Keita's training regiment for this season? Seems like it might be a step too far but some instructions from Klopp and his coaches or even just telling him what'll be expected of him at Liverpool would be a huge boost towards him hitting the ground running next July.
