Thought we would accept that offer with the window closing. Clearly sticking to their guns regarding valuation and think they can get it before Thursday. Sakho is just taking up space and wages as he's never playing again so would have thought we'd cut him loose for that. Freeing up cash doesn't seem an issue, maybe there's no need as we're signing no one else :pac:

The likes of Markovic, Flanagan, Bogdan are just taking up space too but no one seems interested in them.

I'd guess one of Origi/Ings will be loaned out or sold (if a good enough offer arrived in) with Solanke looking like he's jumped them.

Maybe I'm being cynical but I'm saying Bond got lucky with an ambiguous tweet and is riding the wave of success off the back of it.

Once the Lemar news came out that was hinting at Coutinho being gone.
We hadn't been linked with many attacking players all summer after we landed Salah - Ox was linked but he'd cost less than half of Lemar.

They'd need to get a Lemar type signing to stop the fans exploding with Coutinho going. Still hope we plan on keeping him for another year at least.

He picked a hell of a day to tweet it, even after the Lemar bids happened he was tweeting about there being bigger news to drop later that day, and then we announced Keita. He at least had some knowledge of the Keita deal.

Lemar might not be as good as Coutinho, but he's 4 years younger, far better at 21 than Phil was and would actually want to play football for the club. Said it from the start that the best case scenario is selling Coutinho and bringing in an adequate replacement, I only didn't want the club to sell for fear of them not bringing anyone else in.

If we get Lemar, I'm fine with Coutinho leaving. But with Lallana out, we don't have the depth to let him go without replacing him.

Right now we're one injury (to Firmino, Salah, Mane, or Wijnaldum particularly) away from all that lovely quick interplay being hugely diluted.

Paddy Power have locked betting on Coutinho to Barca and the odds of him staying have doubled out to beyond 2/1.

Personally, I'd like the Lemar deal locked off before confirming his exit.

Ideally I'd like them both at the club for the season we have ahead. Our players were exhausted from Mid Jan until near the end of the season when players returning from injury (Countinho among them) gave us the shot in the arm we needed to secure a CL place.
