    €100 million......Ah now Ted.....

Sure that's only two Oxlade Chamberlains and a few bags of Mighty Munch.

I wonder does Klopp want Ox to play right wing back?

Arsenal have Sold Gibbs for 7M to West Brom

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/41095184

Not the greatest full back in the world by any stretch but probably better than Moreno , 7m is an agent fee buying a footballer these days .

Seeing as everybody at Arsenal appears to be up for sale who would you like to take ?
Sanchez would be a no brainer as he would walk into our team imo.
But who else would you snap up in this firesale.

I would stay away from OX but would be interested in
Petr Czech -upgrade on both our keepers
Koscielny -I think he is a top quality center Half
Coquelin - I know Jurgen doesn't believe in defensive midfielders , but I would just be happy to have one at the club cause they are useful in closing out games

Probably as a CM in place of Lucas, as a deputy full back for Clyne, or as a stand-in for Salah and Mane should rotation or injury dictate. Very versatile player, very useful to have in a squad. He won't be the first name on the teamsheet but if you look at our bench in most matches earlier this year you can see why he'd prove valuable.

If the Ox wants first team football instead of being a squad player he isn't going to get that in any of the midfield or forward positions at Liverpool.

I'd take him as a squad player for £25m.

Defo see us getting the ox over lemar. FSG will take the cheaper option

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Oh ffs why are we interested in someone that doesn't improve us. He's never been good enough to start at Arsenal & is basically Theo Walcott's heir to being there for 10 years & never being good enough to be a consistent starter.

Ah FFS man. They've already had massive bids rejected. If Monaco won't sell, they won't sell.

    Joyce reporting Ox news too.

Ox and VVD and its still an excellent window. He'd be great depth, tbh. Still very young, fast, and is solid at most aspects of the game, if not exactly excellent at any one thing in particular.

Klopp can likely make a player out of him though. A lot of people hated the Wijnaldum and Mane transfers at the time, remember.

Hopefully we hear something about van Dijk soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Chamberlain I think under Klopp could be a very good signing. Hopefully it gets done.
Lemar is a fantasic player but Monaco want way too much money.

We need to get VVD done & a new contract for Can too.

Seems the safer option, homegrown, used to the league, if it doesn't work out we would get our money back no problem. His pace would be a real asset, especially if he was playing wing back can you imagine the counter attack with salah and mane. Teams would have to push their defence line away back giving our defence more space

I can see the logic behind Ox. Put him anywhere on the pitch besides centre half and he wouldn't look too far out of place.
He's also great at tracking back and doing the dirty work, we praise Fun Bobby for that side of his game, having 2 people on the pitch doing it would be very effective.

But, I don't see him replacing any of our starting lineup, which I think is what we should be aiming for.

Do you mean Dickerty's jet? (sorry Dickerty, I'll stop now). :D

I'd be happy if we kept Coutinho and signed VVD to be honest. Not sure about Ox at all, personally. Then again if Klopp wants him....

I want Lemar, very good player with world class potential. LFC are on the brink of greatness, it's been a long time since Michael Thomas slotted that ball in the net (a game we would of won if we went out with the usual attacking assault)- the omen can finally come to an end this season.
    *buy the 2 of em

If VVD is off the cards.

Buy all the attackers Ox & Lemar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭dogbert27

You have to hand it to Barcelona for having their heads up their arse. If they don't get Coutinho then their plan B is Griezmann, Dybala or Lemar in that order.

Good luck with that one lads!! :)

I actyally don't mind Couthino leaving if we get lemar and Vvd especially for that money

Yeah but just for their sheer arrogance I'd love to see them totally embarrassed in this transfer window. I think the Neymar deal is a watershed moment for them.

They've just spent over 100 million on a player who they could have got and were interested in last year for 15 miilion. He'll probably be good against most La Liga opposition but his performances in the CL will determine if its a good deal.

Czech only went to Arsenal because he didn't want to leave London. He won't be leaving, I don't think.

Would take the other two, though.

I'd say any interest in oxlade Chamberlain signals the end of the Lemar move due to Monaco asking too much or refusing to sell.

Left back - Robertson, Milner and Moreno - OK to good
CB - Lovren, Matip, Gomez and Klavan - fair to OK at best
Right back - Clyne, TAA and Gomez - OK to good

CB is a worry still ...... I don't think Virgil will join us this window

Milner can do all of those things and probably to a higher standard.

Milner's also 7 years older. Honestly if we can get a 23 year old Milner-type then that's a great asset. Ox has looked ****e for Arsenal lately but he's also playing at wingback, a position he's constantly admitted to being poor at to the point of rejecting a contract from Chelsea for fear of having to play there. I don't think he's great but he's quick and he'll run all day, considering his age he's the type of player Klopp can mould into something good.

Just saw Dembele started following Coutinho on Instagram as well as the rest of the Barcelona team.

    Another stupid Barcelona tactic!

Really hope he's not sold jist to piss them off.

Milner can do all of those things and probably to a higher standard.

The Ox is what 8/9 years younger than Milner and that many years less experienced.

Maybe we are looking to buy the Ox so he will be part of the team for the next 8/9 years and can learn and train and gain experience from training and playing with a player like Milner before he retires.

Fun three days with the Spanish window not closing until midnight Friday nighy

If this is the case, does that mean that when the window slams shut (TM Sky - why can't the window just close for christ's sake?) tomorrow night at 11pm, we could still end up selling Coutinho to Barcelona on Friday?

As most here guessed Liverpool were waiting for the right players not just buying for the sake of buying.
Keita, Lemar, The Ox… Liverpool acting like they’re flush of cash, or something.
They have quite a bit, yep. Massive TV deal in UK & they didn’t spend much last summer. Were biding their time…
