    I'd prefer if the Rose of Tralee was axed, to be honest. Very outdated 'competition'.

    I don't mind Dáithí, TBH.

    In fact, I'm quite tickled by the idea of him commentating on the Eurovision. You know, the novelty of someone from Dingle doing it... ;)

    (Also, Marty's definitely outstayed his welcome - his grumbling when Ireland doesn't make the final is genuinely boring now.)

    I kind of have to agree with Mr E, though. The Rose of Tralee *is* something of an anachronism now - no matter who hosts it. Dáithí, Hector, Al Porter - it still comes across as more of a 20th-century festival than a 21st-century one.

    Mind you, it does still do good business for Tralee itself...
