The Nightking was able to walk through the flames, but I wonder could dragonfire kill a Whitewalker if its hit them directly?

Whitewalkers are killed Valyrian steel (forged with dragonfire) and dragonglass.

Aye, it's bad. Bad as anything you might know. And maybe we don't need to understand anything more than that. You and I won't find much joy while we're here. Aye, maybe that's enough.

Clearly the Night King is a game sort of guy, looking for a real challenge. Sure he could have just killed all of them by killing the sitting duck of Drogo instead of the much more difficult, flying target of (Viseryon?) first, but he is looking to challenge himself and leave his main opponents alive, and with two dragons. Also the wights can still work when dunked in ice water apparently.

But Visyron was mid flame, and I think the fire was what done him in, he went up in a ball of flames. If he'd hit Drogo he may have been able to take off and get away from him, so long as he didn't breath fire.

I was half expecting Rick Grimes to pop up in the middle of that episode.

I feel as bad about the dragons death as I did about my basset hound dying a few years ago.

It was unbelievably depressing seeing him be brought down by the night king.I really hope that bastard gets it at some stage.

Great great episode I'm emotionally shattered after it.

Dany really needs to come up with some armour for the dragons she got one warning and didn't bother with it she has no excuses anymore.

Saw how they made last night's episode on YouTube. A lot more goes into it than I thought. The actors were speaking about it and it's weird hearing them speak in their own accents. Thormund doesn't sound much different.

How do you armour dragons though? It would take some doing and time. At the beginning she did think the dragons were impenetrable. You're right, she needs to protect the dragons.

    Shoite.

    It's been written by teenagers.

I think a full proper Armour might be difficult as it might restrict their flying ability but maybe a breast plate and perhaps some leather would do the job.

They at least need to explore the idea of the dragons having armour in the plot for the sake of avoiding an extremely obvious example of lack of sense in the plot.

Looking at video duration it seems the aired episode is a bit longer than the leak?

Dunno if mentioned since didn't read the whole thread, but anyone think Dany pulled away because he reminded her of her brother? Especially with the earlier mention of Jon not looking like Ned

    My POV of whole Ayra:
She is just acting as a bollocks
She literally told Sansa when she said she was playing the game- the game of faces malarkey
    She is testing Sansa

Or I don't know, I've had few whiskeys

Id love to see Little finger kill Arya. Instead I think we will get the opposite unfortunately.

I'd much rather see something game changing and I like Baelish as a character he's very underrated in the show. Plus Arya has been nothing but over the top fan service for long time now.

They've both been through a lot but Arya seems more desensitised by what she's experienced. Both witnessed Ned's beheading. Sansa was treated horribly in King's Landing, was almost gang raped there and eventually raped by Ramsay. Arya had to listen to the people responsible for her father's death in Harrenhal, going blind and having to physically fight for her life in Braavos. How many people have they killed or seen being killed. People who they thought they could trust being snakes in the grass waiting to bite them in the ass. They've also lost 2 brothers and their mother. Wait til they find out Jon isn't their brother but their cousin. They may change how they feel towards him.

Dany never met Rhaegar so how would Jon remind her of him?

It's the same, scene for scene. The only difference being that whoever recorded and encoded the leak didn't match the frame rates properly. So, the video is sped up and the audio is pitched up on the leak. Over time it'll be shorter than the broadcast.

    Any source for that?

Any contact with the WW's blades is instant death for any living creature so far. Ordinary steel shaaters on impact with them too. The blade cut through V, while the scorpion 2wks ago stuck into D, despite being launched with more force (presumably)

I managed to avoid spoilers all week and just watched this evening. I can see where the negative comments are coming from but I thought it was spectacular. I still have a tight feeling in the pit of my stomach 2 hours later.

I much prefer the political scenes of kings landing than the northern scenes so I did not think I would like this episode as much. Can't wait to see what happens next week.

Arya and Sansa are the least interesting part of the show at the moment but it's shaping up to be interesting.

    Littlefinger needs to go.

I would consider that the creator of the entire GOT universe is a reliable source, no?

But arya doesn't like S anyway. S is girly, arya isn't. Even from S1, arya took no sheet from anyone while S lied to protect Joffrey's version of events - which ended in a direwolf dying. San lived in kl with the lannisters, which is unforgivable in aryas eyes.
Arya would have been killed long ago, had she been in san's position because she would have tried to kill someone for giving her lip and it seems like she thinks san should have died trying, rather than live as a slave of sorts.

I like the antagonism between the two - it's showing that every character has another aspect to them...except jon snow.

It was a genuine question as there's been nothing as definitive as that, as far as I can recall, even though it's a natural assumption, in either the show or the books, so thanks for the response. You don't get any thanks for being a sarky arse about things though.

I know there's a bit of criticism on here and other discussion forums about the pace of the show. I'm actually glad that after all the white walker and Night King stuff that they can cut to something that may not have as much tension in it. I like a bit of a breather between scenes where your heart is racing. Maybe it's just me but if it was highly tensed scenes from start to finish I wouldn't enjoy it as much. You need some downtime to process certain storylines.

I definitely think that's building to something but I'm wondering if there's a different angle to it. It's pure speculation, so I'll spoiler it.
I think Daenerys will die and Jon will be her successor. I can't see the show endorsing incest to that degree, I think the ickyness factor would be too much.

i said something similar after Episode 5 last week. I think Daenys days are numbered.....

Conspiracy theory: the whole leak thing is just a massive marketing stunt. The recent "episodes" were actually written by the winners of a fanfiction competition, sworn to secrecy, because production on the actual episodes had overrun and they were afraid to face the public's wrath if they delayed the series.
The real season will resume in a few weeks.

It's the only explanation that makes sense.

One thing that's kinda irking me is after Jon sent (what's his name) back to the wall to send a raven to Dany, when they're in the middle of the ice lake and surrounded. Why the heck did the wights wait so long to attack them, and they only attacked after Hound boy threw the stone? By the time what's-his-name got back to the wall, by the time a raven was sent and actually reached dragonstone and by the time Dany came to the rescue... just seems rather odd, an awful long time to just wait around someone just standing there looking at them when you outnumber them what... 100 to 1, 1000 to 1, heck 10,000 to 1 even (I'm bad at guessing numbers with my eyes)? Unless the night king knew she was going to come and that he was going to bag himself a dragon.

On a second viewing of the episode tonight, one thing stuck out: The Night King sitting up on horseback all that time while our heroes waited on the rock, I'd say his arse was broke.

We could have done with at least one shot of him getting off the horse to stretch the legs. Not sure how D+D expect me to suspend my disbelief with such shoddy writing. /s
