    Hi all. About to buy a new TV and looking for some help.

    Options are;

    55" Samsung 6 Series TV
    Full HD, curved screen
    Model UA55K6500
    Price - 730 USD

    Or I could also buy the 49" of the same TV for 630 USD. Model UA49K6500.

    I don't really know much about TVs or what to ask the sales person other than the basics. This TV is what he recommended as it's within our budget and on offer with a good discount.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Are you living in the states?

    Usually UA is a US model and UE are the Irish/euro models...

    All the model numbers over there are completely different from the ones in Europe so it would be hard to compare specs

    Would you not go 4K?

    I'm living in the UAE so UA stands for that too. I just asked the guy and he gave me this info:

    The above models with curved screens are 2k TVs. 1920x1080.

    This is the 4K TV;
    50" UHD flat screen 3840x2160.
    Samsung 7Series.
    Model UA50MU7000.
    730 USD

    Which one would you recommend out of those three?

    Thank you for the help.

    I'd personally go with the 4K one more for future proof purposes - didn't realise the UA also was for UAE, they are also Pal over there like us aren't they?

    I think that 7000 is similar to a 40 inch one I have, it's a great set but it doesn't have the best HDR ... (if that's a deal breaker for you)

    Are you using for gaming or anything? Or mainly just watching TV?

    Just for watching TV really: sports and whatnot. Thanks a million for the recommendation. I think I'll go for the 4k TV so then.

    Hi again. So, there's one more option. Don't know much about the brand TCL but they seem to be growing internationally and are about 25-35% cheaper than Samsung. Their app store is supposed to be very limited but I can't find many other faults.

    The two TVs I'm down to are;

    1.
    Brand - TCL
    55 Inch 4K UHD Flat screen 3840x2160
    Smart TV 55P1000
    530usd

    2. The Samsung 50" 4K TV I mentioned earlier.

    50" UHD flat screen 3840x2160.
    Samsung 7Series.
    Model UA50MU7000.
    730 USD

    Both are 2017 models. Basically, I will be using it to watch sports, movies, streaming etc. I am hoping to download mobdro onto it along with another satellite TV streaming service.

    Any thoughts on either of those?
