    So-called "Opium poppies" -
    Papaver Somniferum - but they don't actually produce opium.
    They'll self-seed if you can resist their delightful little seed capsules!

    actually they do and in the us most states require gardeners to obtain a licence to grow them;)

    They're legal to grow if you don't know how to get the opiates out of them, so just declare ignorance if the cops ask :D
