Apparently, Irish expats in, for example, Singapore, China, the UAE or other such countries can make a voluntary contribution to social welfare services so as to ensure they can avail of an Irish state pension when you repatriate.

Just wondering if anyone here as done this. You would need to declare your gross income for the years you wish to contribute to, and pay a specified percentage of that income for each year.

Has anyone here opted for this?
