Hi I am looking to move to Dundrum. I went to view a house in Maples road off Cedar Rd in Dun-drum (the entrance to the Queen of the Angels primary school) and just wanted to get peoples opinions on the area, whether it's safe or not, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

That's not Dundrum, it's probably Balally / Sandyford. I'd say the area is grand, close to the Luas, close (but not too close) to the m50, close to the shopping centre.

There are not many pubs in the area if that is how you like to socialise, but you can get the Luas so not a big deal.

Thanks for your reply! Ya I was confused about the area as on daft it said the address was Dundrum.
Ya I was unsure bout the area as I thought it appeared a bit run down, unkept graffiti etc and then the guards had people pulled over at the shopping centre looking through their car. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't moving into an unsafe area...

Someone with more knowledge on the area than me can correct me, but I'd be surprised if it was considered a run down or dodgy area.

I think the lime road and neighbouring moreen area had some issues back in the 70's and 80's although it was more anecdotal then anything else. The whole area is pretty much gentrified by now. As for being in Dundrum - the rental agency is chancing their arm probably as Dundrum would be a better address than the outskirts of the sandyford industrail estate.

However, i'd imagine you would be grand.

Been living in that estate since 2015, it's absolutely fine - not an ounce of bother. Every so often you see a "dodgy" looking person in the shopping centre but it never seems to come to anything.

It takes about 30 mins to get to Stephens Green on LUAS (including walk and wait for train) which is a god send. There isn't many pubs alright, but that doesnt bother us!
