What would be an average price. Any do's and don'ts. I've new carpets for the upstairs and just wondering should I do the clean before I lay the…

FWIW - I went through something similar a few years ago & rented an industrial vacuum cleaner (from Harry Hire in Balbriggan) & did the job myself. There wasn't a mote of dust left - more thanks to the machine than my cleaning skills.
