So I'm currently studying pharmacy and I'm going into 2nd year but I decided that I want to move to medicine. I have started to practice the hpat a few days ago and have around 5 months to go until the exam. I was just wondering, would i have a good chance of getting into medicine in UCD or trinity? I got 605 points in my leaving cert (equivalent of 601 points in the new points system). I want to pass pharmacy while getting a hpat good enough to get into medicine in Dublin. Would this be doable? Thanks :)

Why do you want to continue doing pharmacy if you're just going to drop out to do medicine? Isn't that a waste of money?

I want to stay in pharmacy just in case the hpat doesn't work out. It's just a back up option. I know it seems like a waste of money but the idea of a gap year scares me.

Honestly I'd defer, spending another 8500ish is kinda ridiculous unless you're rich.

But to answer your original question, it's definitely doable especially with a 600+ LC :)
