Just curious, would replacing an electric hob require a REC as implied by the recent advert?

I know it's probably advisable etc., but is it accurate?

No its considered minor works once replacing like for like.

    Sensationalist at best.

I'm really fed up of the whole 'you are only competent if you pay your rec tax' deal.

the lad on the horse is just as good as anyone else if he paid it...
