I dunno, I was never into skateboarding, so it never really appealed to me. Quite hard to use a skateboard on grass, and being brought up in the country I suppose the whole skaterboi stuff passed me by.

I was never into skateboarding either but they were good games.

Good soundtracks as well. Coolboarders was another favorite of mine back then.

SSX and THPS were probably two series I put the most hours into on the PS2.

I think, similar to NFL, NHL & NBA games, you need to be into it to really enjoy it, due to the amount of rules and plays, etc each game requires you to know, so I've no idea what an olly or all those other weird names for skating moves.

Just thinking about it now. My brother was into skateboarding and it was him who got the first Tony Hawk game so if he never did I would more than likely never have played them either and when i played it I thought it was brilliant so I bought Underground and Underground 2 when they were released.

You don't need to be into skating to like Tony hawks. Wasn't into it at all but they were insanely good games.

In fact I think most people that played them weren't into skating. I believe it was the Tony hawk games that kick started the big skating revival in the 90s.

Skate boarding really blew up in the late 90's and early 2000s. Firmly down to a strong mix between the Tony Hawk games (1999) and Jackass going on air (2000) which featured a lot of well known skateboarders.

The games were all over the top and a lot of fun, without being ridiculous and also had some great songs.

I'd love to see a remaster of the first 3 games come out, and pray they're nothing like the most recent one.

Is the latest thps really that bad? How is it so different than the originals?

Basic gist is the game was hacked together in less than a year.

Activision were to lose the license to make any more THPS games at the end of 2015, so got THPS5 cobbled together to make a quick bit of money.

Cool, enough for me to stay away :)

One game I like playing in Liberty City is QUB3D.

You missed out at the time. I don't know if they hold up now game wise but for the time they were brilliant.
I replayed Tony Hawks 1 on the dreamcast recently and it still holds up!

Wish there was a demo for fire pro. I see WWE 2k18 is on ps now which I could at least trial with a new account to test it. Because I don't watch WWE or haven't played a game in years, I'm not sure how I'll find either, just looking for a fun game and even online reviews are very divisive in which is better. 2k19 being 20 euro, cex will give me 14 cash if I don't like it where as I'm stuck with fire pro at a heftier price tag but it does look/sound more fun.

I had ended up getting wwe 2k19 and didn't keep it for long. The old school wrestlers were fun but I need a good career mode and it was fairly poor as moves and clothes were locked behind random loot boxes so I was left with a mish mash wrestler of whatever i was able to unlock. Plus the gameplay was mostly watching flashy moves, got boring pretty quick.

Fire Pro Wrestling is now 15 on the psn store and highly tempting. I see the career mode Fighting Road is actually dlc. Is there no campaign mode other than this?

It's still a Tony Hawks game though skate boarding and same tricks with a few new special moves and there is online also but was broken. And there were no voice acting which was boring.

Oh yea I just remembered and it was hard to get into the game. I had to go in to play it and then go out log out and log back in just to play the game. I forget the exact steps but something like that. I still have the game just haven't played it in over 2 or 3 years.

PSA: Buy and play Outer Wilds ASAP. Whatever platform your on, whatever price it is. There's a reason it has so many nominations in the Boards GOTY awards. I want to meet the devs so i can buy them a pint.

Wasn't sure if I should post this in gaming humour instead but they seem sincere so here is probably fine.

(Trailer has spoilers, by the way)

What on earth would the main gameplay loop be? I'm guessing this is just going to be an interactive Bible, a walking simulator with occasional miracles..

I wonder if the QTE's have lasting effects, like, say you go to heal a leper and you mess up the combination and fail, do you get to go again or ruin Jesus's reputation? Or as above, spam x to produce many fish from 1, or move the left and right stick in the correct motion to turn water to wine. They could be onto something here...

I'm wondering how the meter in the bottom corner works. Like can you use your whole meter walking on water or turning water into wine, then have no meter left when you see a child with leprosy and have to let them die?

It can’t be discounted that it is a joke. The idea of a depletable ‘miracle bar’ is so funny (and, for Christians, potentially blasphemous) that I just can’t rule out satire.

That said, religious themed media in general can typically display an impressive lack of self-awareness and/or quality, so who knows!

Jim Sterling did a dive on this, and it seems the dev / publisher are ... well, maybe not shady, but definitely weird. That their catalogue is a tonne of shovelware "X Simulator" games (Thief Simulator, Drug Dealer Simulator, Bum Simulator....), many of which appear to be clones of a template and basically just "goofing around" games. He included the "Priest Simulator" trailer and it's ... ... well, it looks like Postal crossed with Goat Simulator.

Take 2 setting up a new studio for a new bioshock game. Don't like the next several years though.

Some guy with 3 sources of info (2 devs and 1 journo) about Mafia 4 and Mafia 2 remaster. Obviously ton of salt but Mafia 4 set in 70's Vegas that has you building a crime empire (quite literally, buy a derelict old building, turn it into a buzzing casino), sounds great. Hopefully true.

Edit: more recent update from same guy.
