Dont cheap out on a chair. Just save for longer.

It should be one of the most expensive things you own....like your bed. If you spend so many hours of your life in it, it's worth paying a few quid more.

Anyone recommend a gaming chair similar to the Corsair T1 but for half the price! Max budget is €150.

IKEA Markus is about €150. I’d recommend a second hand Herman Miller Aeron though. They’re dearer but you could get one on adverts for around €300.

Not the only problem though. Can I interest you in the Ultimate edition? How bout the Ultimate edition plus+? Both well worth the money. Why buy another console when you can spend the same amount on a bunch of tat? Plus it comes with an exclusive escort and eavesdropping mission!

But if you realllly want to experience what its like to be a Ninja/pirate/assassin/murderer you should get the OMG I just stepped on a piece of lego edition. Thats the best one.

How about the ultimate edition that has a plastic statue but no copy of the actual game?

If you're stupid enough to buy it then you deserve to lose your money.

I ignored Division when it came out and this year, around January I picked it up, because youtube was full of re-reviews of it and all very positive.
Very glad I did, sank like 200h+ in to it and had a blast. These games as service can really shine and kudos to developer not abandoning this game and actually fixing it.
If anyone can pick it up on sale I would highly suggest it. One of the best 30eu I ever spent for full game and season pass.
I think anyone who played it when it first came out will have been put off it permanently at this stage.

The campaign was dull. The end game was dull. The DZ was dull. The DLC additions were dull.

I will probably buy #2, but I won't make the mistake of buying it on launch again. I'll wait a week or two to see what the reaction is.

Lol not really about saving, couldn't justify it when we've a mortgage to pay and a baby on the way! I'm fairly stuck around €150, maybe in a couple of years I could swing a more premium chair.

Burnout Paradise - some cracking tunes in that game.

If you are after an office chair style keep an eye on home store and more. They usually do a half price month for office chairs. I got mine for 70-80 euro and it is super comfortable.

Smyths often are flogging off gaming chairs in store might be worth popping in. It seems like everytime im in there they have a stack marked down.

Alternatives check out adverts/dine deal or charity shops for second hand ones.

Also ebay you can get some pretty nice recliners for around than money.

After 100% clearing Assassins Creed Origins I've decided to try and start clearing the backlog.

I've started with Mafia 3 as at the time I'd the least done in it.
Enjoying it quite a bit, the atmosphere and the soundtrack is pretty great.
On top of that you aren't taking over because you want power or money etc. it's all just a means to an end. Revenge.
It's a bit buggy but I'm enjoying it enough to overlook it's flaws, plus I picked up the edition that comes with everything dirt cheap so what is not to like.

After that I'll probably polish off Shadow of Mordor as I've only a few story missions left to do, then the DLC.
Final Fantasy 15 next, as I've only the DLCs to playthrough.

Far Cry 4 after those maybe. Overwatch or Elite Dangeorus might start calling me back by then.

On the subject of recommendations....any suggestions for a decent wireless headset that'll work with PS4, XB1 and PC? Or is that asking too much? Budget really would be 200, ideally less.

Have Cloud II's and they're great but the wires are driving me mad, especially when I'm switching them between platforms all the time.

Does it need to work with all three? I have A50s and they work with my Xbox and PC but won't do voice on PS4.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Sadly yes as I do use all 3.

Worst case scenario it'd have to be PS4 and PC as I play those online the most, could probably survive with the basic Xbox headset the odd time I needed it.

You can get the A50 in a PS4 and PC option. Keep an eye on Argos as they go on sale quite often.

I don't think you can get headphones that'll do wireless including voice that supports both Ps4 and XB1. Unless that has changed recently, but when I was looking there was always separate versions.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Dang. I think I can live with just PS4 and PC as I said though. It's super rare I'd play the Xbox these days.

Holy crap though. €350 in Argos. Definitely couldn't justify it at that price.

edit: looking at reviews there is a really high percentage of poor to middling consumer reviews for the A50's? 30% of reviews on Amazon are between 1 and 3 star for a lot of build quality issues....

I bought mine in Argos for €220 (might have been a little less) when they first launched. Build quality is excellent and the battery is quite good.

I'm being tempted by a xbox one just so I have something to play Ninja Gaiden Black on. My other xboxes are in the parents place.

Just finished Spec Ops: The Line. Great game.

Brother is changing his chair so I'm taking his Volmar with armrests and headrest for €50. Happy with that!

I had A50s and had to return them after 6 months due to persistent problems with them freezing (couldn't adjust volume, couldn't turn on or off etc).

They were sent back to Astro for repair and they said there was nothing wrong and denied the problem existed, despite a quick google showing the problem was fairly common. Ended up just getting a refund from Amazon.

It was annoying because when they worked they were excellent, better than any other headphones I've owned. Far better than the equivalent Turtle Beach (which I now have).

    Stealth 600's?

    The 800x.

They have more modes than the Astros and no wires into the controller (though I think the latest Astros don't have this either) but they are way less comfortable and the sound isn't as good.

I have CloudX IIs for the PC and I prefer them to the 800x and they cost a fraction of the price.

Fire Pro Wrestling World out the end of August. This looks like a bit of a laugh. Anyone played the original? Any good? (I'm not into wrassling at all but enjoyed the old games).

I found with wireless headphones, that they are pretty much wired headphones majority of the time.
If you play a decent amount of time, they run of charge all of the time. And charging is pain in a hole.

Another thing is, that it is very hard to get headphones that would work on all platforms. Its still a whole ps4 vs xbox thing. Usually set supports one or another console and pc.

    Shenmue news

If anyone has been ignoring or only occasionally looking at their Shenmue emails they sent out one for you to select the version/platform you want.

Says you need to do it by 30/9

If your selecting console, then the country you pick will decide the region for the game digital or physical.

It's the only wrestling game you need. More focused on creating matches with the dynamics of a wrestling game than being a competitive fighter. It has a weird timing based grappling system which can take a while to wrap your head around but once you do its probably the best grappling system of any game in its genre.

The one with Kenny and Ibushi playing on the couch is a amazing. Can't find it anywhere though.

Shame the Young Bucks, Cody and Will Ospreay aren't in it "officially" but I'm glad they have a lot of NJPW talent in it.
Pity they haven't asked other companies but I'm sure they have thought about it. Hopefully the PlayStation community will carry the workload of that.

The customisation in the game is insanely detailed so I'd say there will be tonnes of mods to cover anything you'd wish for.
