New AV receiver for KEF KHT2005.3?

I am planning to buy an LG OLED 65B7 later in the year but I am now ready to replace my ancient Onkyo TX-SR606 (the HDMI board has been dead for ages but the audio has been fine).

I am tempted by either the Sony STR-DN1080 or the Denon AVRX3300W after seeing lots of good reviews for both.

    - Would these be overkill for my 5.1 KEF KHT2005.3 setup?

    - I am sticking with 5.1 for now but having Atmos would give me options in the future.

    - Dolby Vision is important, right? I have read that both that it is and that it isn't coming to the Sony STR-DN1080. Does anyone know for sure?

Would you recommendthe Sony or the Denon? Any alternative receiver suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Beaker.

    Thanks for the post.

The AVRX3300 is a cracking amp and has been very very popular. It has dropped right down in price as it is now clearing.

There is only a very limited amount of these left and then they are finished.

Regarding Dolby Vision. I don't think most manufacturers have made up their minds as of yet regarding firmware updates for Dolby Vision or if it is even possible to do via a firmware update.

Some manufacturers like Panasonic are not evening bothering with it in their new screens.
