Sexy bastard Zlatan clearly waited for a new United thread to start here so we was in first.

Imagine chasing a goal now and looking to the bench. Imagine now seeing Zlatan instead of Fellaini as your go to option. What an option to have. Don't see him displacing Lukaku at all now. Felt last year while he scored plenty he slowed down the attack completely. We're a much pacier side nowadays but what a lad to bring into the squad. A Cantona type player

    Fellaini out :P

So we now have a plan A,B and C which I will call CNUTS. Imagine opposition defenders see lukaku, feillaini and zlatan. The first words would be "you f'ing Cnuts".:)

A big centre half would much rather mark those 3 rather than having a rashford or martial running at them

Most don't have 3 cbs on the pitch of similar heights, yes I think most tall defenders prefer to take on tall strikers, but zlatan and lukaku aren't your typical lanky striker.

Roll on Saturday. New thread, new winning mentality, new champions at the end of the season.

Is he back from injury already?

I'm Ibrasolutely delighted with Zlat news. Fair play to him for working his way back to get that contract so soon. He proved many wrong after he joined the PL last year and performed well, now he might prove some doubters wrong again.

Either way, it'll be great to have his experience in the dressing room. I only hope that he used as a supplement to the team, rather than the fulcrum of it.

Also, Burton Albion, nice one. Not a big gambler, but I've won a few small accumulators in the last few years and Burton Albion were in each one.

A remarkable club - Only a few years ago, they were in League 2. Last season was their first in the Championship, and this trip to Old Trafford will be huge for Burton, I do like them. Hope our kids fúcking stuff them :D

    I think it's clever!

Great re-signing though, always thought he'd come back, deserved it after last season and will no doubt be a great squad player this season.

Will put pressure on Lukaku to consistently perform and the experience and knowledge he'll bring to the likes of Martial/Rashford too will be indispensable.

Will be delighted to see him don the 10 jersey

I'm just glad everyone here knows how to write Re-signs

Be heart breaking to have seen:

Zlatan personal trophy room is bigger than many a club.... 34 winners medals across leagues, national cups, euopean cups, super cups and charity shield.... impressive reading. Keeps the housekeeper busy :) polish and shine....

As long as he is being considered backup I'm delighted. I don't want the current shape or style mangled just to fit him in. That wouldn't make us better imo.

Two good teams but in the scheme of things, delighted with the draw so far - let's just hope to avoid someone like (edit, had Roma as pot 4 in my mind!?) Leipzig and get Maribor or APOEL to round it off! :D

Would be a disaster to not reach the last 16 with that draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,758 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Im very happy with this draw.

    Spurs getting a tough one.

Citys not as handy as it first appeared.

Draw Celtic and we couldn't be in a better position.

Really think this slice of luck could have a big impact on our season.

On paper the draw is kind to United.
