Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No win after the last 5 international breaks. Expecting that trend too continue today.

    1-1.

Jaysus that’s a very attacking line up. Nearly too attacking especially with Lindelof at the back. Delighted to see Martial and Rashford both on the pitch but Mata as well?

Anyway I’m still confident of a Utd win. I’m expecting plenty of goals in this game.

On a side note, although expected over the last few days it really is amazing to see Ibra back and on the bench so soon. A man of his age and still has the drive and dedication to get back so soon after that serious injury. Admirable.

I’d be astonished if we didn’t put two or three past Newcastle.

I think rojo ain't getting enough credit either I know zlatan suffered double but rojo is back already too from an equally as dangerous injury in the very same game.

To be fair that’s the most attacking line up we could field

    No excuses for not scoring

True but I was more talking about his age, the late stage of his career and the hugely successful career he has had. Despite all that still has the hunger and drive to get back quickly.

Quick match thread up in a minimalist style.

So much for Jones saying he wasn't injured.

    Lindelovren slipping on his arse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

    Oh Lindelof

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,346 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

If lindelof had his body position right he wouldn't have fallen on his arse and would have been able to cut that out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,595 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Meh, Gayle wasn’t even his man, matic didn’t track him.. doubt Lindelof would have made that ball anyways

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

He'll be gone next summer. Guy can't do a single thing right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Just keep making excuses for him.....

    Useless **** of a player.

Bin him in January he hasn't done a thing right for club.

Everytime he's given a chance he costs us.

How many individual errors has he made that have led to goals? 4?

Feck it, I'll throw in that brainless tackle during pre-season that gave away a penalty too. 5 probably.

rashford/tony's decision making is getting a bit tiring.

Killing us through the middle, Pogba should be at 10 and Herrera in for Mata

The slip is one thing but how were we so open they had 4 in the box we pretty much had 2 and they had a player crossing it

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,424 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

At least the unbalanced starting team saves making subs for extra attackers....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Look all over the shop without the ball. Team still not balanced. Fellaini or Herrera on for Mata.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭Islander13

Got to come back and win this, no chance of making up a 10/11 point deficit on city

Can Pogba not just have a free role with another CM playing instead of Mata?

1-1. Good goal. Pogba looks like he does stuff quite slowly but he's just able to make defenders commit before a quick flick past them.

What I don't understand is, we're playing with Martial and Rashford but we won't commit one of them to the right side. Having both wings covered with overlap opportunities could open so much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,559 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

Fellaini for Mata at HT and give Pogba a free role.
    Mata has been anonymous.

Meh. The nature of football is that it only takes seconds to do something, it doesn't retroactively change what happened in the game up to that point.

Hah the joy of a delayed stream.

Lovely goal. Would really like to see Pogba have another body behind him and be the furthest forward of a midfield three.

We still look wide open without the ball.
