Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaysus twitter is actually a great source of news. James Wilson is fit again and scored twice yesterday against Celtic. Nice to see the lad back fit again. Seems a bit like Will Keane. Bags of potential as a youth but has had nasty injuries. His chance of making the step up looks to be gone.

The madness of it all is that it is only becoming hip now to use the “best in the world” tag with De Gea, when he has been unmatched for 4 or 5 years now.

Congrats on yesterday's win from a Gunners fan.
United deserved it and De Gea was brilliant. Without him it could have been 4 all. The Arsenal defence is fragile to say the least and has been for years with no leader and lacking a bit of teak.
Hope United can beat City next week to keep the league open as it seems like City could run away with it if they win.

Courtois on the league winning season under Jose was amazing.

Neuer has been excellent in the last number of years.

No. Way has ddg been unmatched. He has been right up there in the time frame, but not unmatched.

Disagree, he has been unmatched for a long time.

I'd say he's been part of that discussion for the past few years.

I think the only reason it's getting such attention now is because he put in a big performance in such a high profile game that United have won.

If he goes on to do similar in the latter stages of the CL then he'll further cement his position amongst the top dogs.

Like I said, Jesse had a good performance, but DDG literally matched a PL record for most saves in a single match...

Well being pedantic, the records only began in the 2003/04 season so it’s hard to know if it’s an actually PL record.. :D

I'm more suprised its tied with feckin Mannone and Krul

I'd say he's been the best the premier league has had to offer for a number of years now. Neuer and Buffon the only ones who'd run him close in Europe.

DeGea, Nueur, Buffon, Courtois, Oblak, in that order.. rest don’t even come close to those 5 atm

Used to be a few lunatic City fans on here who rated Hart higher

    Think AIG rated Bravo higher.

Lloris used to be rated above DDG aswell.

Well I think it was more people who didn’t watch him week in week out and ere always judging him on his start to his United Career. United fans who watch him every game can see that he has been world class the last 4/5 years

As for the Bravo comment, AIG is extremely biased towards anything Pep/Barca so there is no surprise there

Lingard was class yesterday but MOTM could only have been DDG. That was the best game i've ever seen by him, an all time great performance by one of the worlds best. People will talk about that performance like Schmeichel against Newcastle in years to come

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,164 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

One thing I do find is a bit of a shame is De Gea is always compared directly to Schmeichel. I think VDS is deserving of being held in a similar esteem to them but he seems to get skipped. All 3 were well among the best in the world while here.

Schmeichel closely followed by De Gea for me.

A younger VDS may have been close to the Big Dane if he had played for us

Pity it wasn't at the end of the second half, fully expect City to clobber them in the second 45 now.

Guaranteed drop points. Thank you, West Ham and Moyes. No way City are coming back from this. In your fúcking face, City.

What? Clearly we need to try something different this season to appease the jinx gods.

City are relying a lot on extra time winners. That luck will run out eventually...

    Man City 2-1 West Ham

    Sterling 96, 98

8 point gap it is going into next weekend. 11 point gap will be league over im afraid:(

Even if we do win, no-one else can hang with them so they'd pull away again.

It's David Moyes' West Ham. They'll be whipping boys for most clubs in the top half of the league this year...

Which is why the game is a must win!! But so hard seeing us beat them with the form their in. Need a Jose masterclass next Sunday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Irritating that they're not getting punished. Very frustrating to chase these ****ers down. With Pogba i don't see us gaining any ground at all next week either, he completely shafted us because otherwise we'd be playing them at the perfect time and now a 0-0 home result is the best we can hope for

They're not in great form at all. Squeaking by wins against lower half sides. Crucially though, they're winning and next week we wont be in a position to take advantage as we're barely able to play top half standard football without Pogba, and we can't play anything better than championship quality without him or Fellaini
