Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is it just a point we need to top the group and qualify ?

I'd be resting them regardless, at home against CSKA I'd be expecting the fringe players to be good enough. And if not, its worth finding that out now when we have the safety net.

    Taken for the Utd website

"Calamitous proportions, you say? Yes – we’d need to lose by seven goals to go out. The permutations are pretty complicated, so we’ll defer to UEFA.com’s explanation: "United would qualify in first place with a point (and can afford to lose by six goals and still go through). If they lose to CSKA and Basel do not win, United and CSKA will go through with first place determined by head-to-head results between the two; United won 4-1 in Russia and would have the superior overall goal difference if they lose 4-1. If CSKA and Basel win, the top two will be decided in a three-way head to head; United would be through in this situation unless they lost by seven goals, and would be top unless they lost by five goals."

Those Kepa to Real rumours just wont go away. Hopefully it goes through next month put an end to the annual speculation that DDG is wanted by Real.

The big thing with ddg is that Jose said last summer if he wanted to go he could go he won't stand in his way.

I think ddg is happy at United for the time been if we continue to improve the team and he thinks we can challenge for major honours.

    So basically....

    Win or draw we're top

Lose by less than 4-1 and we're top.

Lose by between 4 to 6 and we're second

Lose by more than 6 and Basel win we're out.

Ever since MK Dons gave us a hammering I never want to take a game for granted :P

But surely we have to finish top here.

Used to love the match threads but haven't really paid any interest in them for a long while now.

Think it's done a world of good for my blood pressure

Take the same 3-5 posters out of there, and the match threads might be a place we'd finally venture in to and use once again in numbers. Rather than United fans being the minority in the match threads, as the situation is now. Rather than most of us peaking in cautiously in the aftermath as if it were the scene of some gruesome mass murder, as the situation is now.

I don't mind unpopular opinions at all, ones that differ from mine, people talking against United, cheering their losses and misfortune, or even people just shít-posting complete fallacies like 'My dog is better with a football than Paul Pogba'. Once they're all genuine opinions and beliefs according to those who post them. Differing and unpopular opinions are welcome and necessary, otherwise the place becomes an echo chamber.

However there are a select few who are constantly on the wind-up these days. They couldn't give a fúck about discussing football, engaging in a genuine debate, or objectively calling a football game or a situation. Ruining and/or derailing a United match-thread appears to be a weekly hobby to them. I can't even outright blame the mods or directly report one post to them, because these posters have their routine carefully mastered to a fine art by now.

May that Arsenal/United match thread sink as quickly and dramatically as the hope of the 'neutrals' when Lingard hit his second last Saturday.

Yes, but they'd have gotten the moral victory and went top of the Alternative League due to the goals they should have scored ;)

I think this time around they're over playing the one sided thing.

Yes, they had more possession, should have had a pen, more shots and two unreal saves from De Gea....

But United set our to do a job and could easily have scored 3 more if you look at the chances Lukaku and Lingard had. Arsenal were v poor at times at the back and deserved to concede more.

They could argue they should have gotten a draw, but the chances they gave United I don't they deserved anything more.

Did you see Wengers press conference after the game. He kind of agreed with the claim they should have won 5-2. I love seeing his face after a loss . He's the most bitter sorest loser in the game. Will see every incident that goes against his side but goes blind when they get the rub of the green

I'm not his biggest fan but someone like Kross is the exact player we need to complete of midfield. Someone who is just so comfortable on the ball he can get on it no matter what play the right pass and relief pressure. It was really evident against Arsenal how panicked lads can be on the ball when under severe pressure but if we had a go player to like him it'd make everyone calmer imo.

Matic is kinda low risk passer, Pobga is a high risk just need someone who is no risk.

Think.id prefer verratti. Will be tough to nab off PSG but raiola is now his agent

Stop going on about it, as I said before. The last thing he needs is a break.

    He needs goals.

Jose said it in his presser, basically more that he wouldn’t ask him to play thru the pain as such..

Looks like a 4231 with Pogba at 10 and mata out wide

Actually could be a 433 with mata rash and Lukaku up top with Blind holding and Pogba and Ander as 2 way

Right, no one wants that. But you can't keep worrying about. He could get injured walking his doggy.

He's a young lad the city game is not until Sunday. Tonight is a good chance for him to get back in among the goals. and build some confidence.

    Id say

    GK
    Victor
    Smalling
    Blind
    Valencia
    Herrera
    Pogba
    Shaw
    Mata
    Rashford

    Lukaku

Ideally Lukaku would bag a few goals and come off after an hour.

Has he played every minute of the PL and CL?
