Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Were doing fine tbh. Mikhi has been wasteful and Rashford has been a bit quite then there's Lukaku's miss. We need to get out of second gear and score that second goal.

Young, Mata and Matic having a good game so far.

Mkhi has been wasteful but that can be the way it goes with him lately, then later on in a game he'll provide an assist so I'm not too worried.

Somehow, Lukaku missed two great chances to hit the net in that one passage where he ended up scuffing it wide. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us in the second half.

Ah yes now I remember why I dislike seeing Lingaard coming on

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

    Ah lingaard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭Minderbinder

If Lingard kept that down wouldn't just have been blocked anyway? Probably should have left it go passed him. Anyway kudos to Ashley Young for creating something.

Mkhitaryan and Lukaku redeemed. Worst players today link up for the second goal.

    Clinical at last.

Very happy to have had Matic in the team the last 15 minutes. He's been very very good at doing some boring donkey work.

Cracking performance. Nothing to worry about. Onwards and upwards.

Very flattering. That second half was worrying. 3 points so can't be too critical.

4-0 will let people gloss over how dreadful we were for most of that match.

Everton were cowardly at the start, and we should have been 3 up within twenty minutes. And then we didn't really push at all. Thankfully, Everton looked utterly knackered at the end and we flattered ourself at the end.

Gary Lineker: Very decent of @ManUtd to wait until @WayneRooney left the pitch before demolishing Everton.

We should change our name to Manchester Athletic

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭Quandary

We were extremely poor for the majority of that 2nd half. 4-0 flatters us massively.

Still though, to win 4-0 while playing sh1te is a positive in its own way. If it was last season you just know we come out of that match with a 1-1 draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Would have ended 1-1 last season so that's a plus.

Poor performance second half. Having Miki at 10 and only two midfielders behind is great at home to take a game to a defensive team. Problem is, if you score early and they come out it shows how unbalanced that set up is. Very vulnerable in the middle despite Fellaini having another good game and Matic again being excellent. For me for this system to work you need pace on both wings not just one. Matas place is surely under threat.
Of course it was as simple as that today and the team overall were poor.

I see Lukaku getting a lot of stick here but I'll tell you what I love about him, no matter how bad it's going for him, missing a sitter, barely getting a kick in th second half , you always get the feeling he will score.

Although we lived on our last nerve a little bit, and that was our worst half of football this season, we really are capable of going through a 15 minute spell of serious football. Teams sitting back against us and are going to have to find a different way to set up because it isn't working.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Being a united fan is like homer simpson getting asked about the isotopes baseball team on 75 minutes away they're losers, on 90 minutes there's me sitting there in my 1999 champions league jersey it's our year boys it's our year. :)

Agreed on Fellaini, solid as **** in there with Matic.

With Lukaku, he seems to have a seriously strong mentality and doesn't let the misses bother him.
