I'd never think of interupting someone going about their daily life for an autograph.

What right do I have to interject myself into their moments to relax, to demand something off them?

Keane has regularly been seen over the years here at matches in Whitechurch, Rockmount's ground.

Not one person intrudes his personal space, he just stands there chatting to people peacefully without getting hassle.

It's the right way to be.

He's famous yes, but that doesn't mean he has given up his right to privacy.

One thing I have learned over the years is that a hell of a lot of football fans have a truly embarrassing sense of entitlement

Its not just football fans - fans of music would be similar on occassion, and worse. You hears some freaking CRAZY stories about 1 Direction or Beiber fans.

Mike Phelan doing a good job at picking a combined Man Utd-Liverpool XI on SSN.

Nothing but United players until the front three (DDG-Val-Bailly-Jones-Young; Matic-Herrera), with Salah and Coutinho given token inclusions to fend off any potential backlash from "those" fans :D

Its kinda laughable that Young is in there. Not really as a criticism of Young, but how are both United and Liverpool in a state that Ashley Young is the best left back on the books at both clubs?

Surprised he didn't go with Can or Henderson beside Matic - with Pogba (i'm guessing) not an option? who were the final two picks?

Based on current availability. Hence no Pogba or Mane. Rashford and Lukaku filled the final two berths.

Cheers - as I say I think Can or Henderson in for Herrera is the most obvious arguement to be made.

Definitely not Henderson or Horrenderson as he's been called lately by some Pool fans.

Currently listening to RedFM here in Cork.

Roy Keane is getting some hammering from callers.

He is being branded "A disgrace" for not signing autographs etc.

It's his decision whether or not he wants to sign autographs. I think the real disgrace is listening to RedFm. An absolute kip of a station.

Both players have been pretty poor this season tbh, but then Herrera has hardly played too so maybe go one DM And have a 4141 with Rashford and Salah wide, Coutinho and Mhki behind Lukaku

Back in 2003 when Man Utd were on a preseason tour here in the US I went to see them practice at Rutgars University Stadium in New Jersey as they were playing Juve the following night. There were a few hundred other fans there and afterwards a few of the players came over to sign autographs like Giggs, Rio and Keane. After 5 minutes all the players left except Keane who stayed probably another half hour until everyone got their autograph.

Why do people do this every time we play each other? It's a stupid pointless exercise.

Speaking of... this is my combined Man Utd-Liverpool XI:

    DDG
    Valencia
    Bailly
    Jones
    Shaw
    Matic
    Pogba
    Herrera
    Miki
    Martial
    Lukaku

how players are, in fans eyes can sometimes be like cars, personal experiences tarnishing the outlook.

I know for me personally, I've only ever came across him in person twice, both as a teenager and came away thinking he was a massive twat.

But moreso just listening to him generally speak, I find him pretty pathetic and I don't get this mad cult around him being a "legend", he's pretty much just being a twat for 8 years now.

Have absolutely no time for him at all anymore, which is a massive pity considering he was a tremendous player for club and country and a massive inspirational figure before I actually met him.

You are completely underselling how good Lukaku has been. Why do you keep saying we have pace around the striker as if that isn’t what Ibra had from over a year ago? Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford/Martial in a 4231 with Pogba coming from deep - that isn’t anything new to this season. Having pace around the striker is not what has changed this season, the fact that we have a pacey striker is.

I'm not underselling Lukaku, I'm saying (or trying to)that is why I wouldn't be overly concerned if Zlatan was to come in and don't subscribe to this notion he slows the play down.

If anything I'm getting carried away with Lukaku personally to be honest.

Last season there was issues shoehorning Rooney into the team with Ibrahimovic and Mata at times which did cause a "slowness" in the buildup, but I don't believe that was Ibrahimovics fault. There was plenty of games where he had Rashford,Lingaard or Mhiki around him where we were lethal and creating mad chances.

not that big a mystery - it's based on the level of his performances for the team over a decade and 300+ games.

The thing I'm referring to is more about his personality and viewpoints on things.

You know, when he just says blatantly ridiculous things and I'll see some reaction "aw what a legend"

Even beyond that level - look at Mendy being called a 'legend' for 'shutting down' castles a couple of weeks ago - because Castles said City feared he had an ACL injury. The exact injury he was confirmed to have the following day.

Would people take a 1-1 now, where we played pretty decent and maybe could have won the game?

Or are people expecting or hoping for all 3?

Ah, I didn’t realize you were claiming that the attack last season (post Rooney being benched in September) was as fast and dynamic as it is this season. To me that is so obviously incorrect that it’s not worth debating.

Yeah I'd probably take a draw but I'd be a bit disappointed with it. A draw is a much better result for us than them, but given the next few fixtures for us and City we really don't want to fall too far behind.

    City next 4
    Stoke H
    Burnley H
    West Brom A
    Arsenal H

    United next 4
    Liverpool A
    Huddersfield A
    Spurs H
    Chelsea A

    Spurs next 4
    Bournemouth A
    Liverpool H
    United A
    Palace H

    Chelsea next 4
    Palace A
    Watford H
    Bournemouth A
    United H

Looking at those 4 games for City you'd expect them to get 10/12 points, most likely 12.

For us, if we only managed a draw against Liverpool then it puts real pressure on the next three games. We should win the next two, but Chelsea away is tough. Say 8 points.

Spurs I fancy to get 9 points if we beat them.

Chelsea to get 10 points with a draw against us.

    City P11 Pts 31
    United P11 Pts 27
    Spurs P11 Pts 23
    Chelsea P11 Pts 23

We have a nice enough run after these four games to catch back up to City, but I'd much rather get the 3 if they are on offer against Liverpool and it'll keep us in good stead going through these tough games.

No way would i take a draw now. Liverpool are there for the taking. Missing one of there best players, clyne out injured as well and our form is excellent. They will find it hard to contain rashford and lukaku and martial when he comes on or vice versa

No way id take the draw. Based on what we have seen of both teams so far this season if we dont win it be our own fault. Rivals or not Anfield or not with the players we have the form there in and the players there missing we should be winning this game.

Basically go out and prove a point make a statement!

I'd be hoping for all 3 points. Whatever about people saying "form" goes out the window, this Liverpool team are not in any great shape, they have no specialists in either box, we should be able to really get at them and I just don't see any area of the pitch where we can't match or better them.

I've felt that way about Liverpool in most occasions. It would be nice to have a United team step out at Anfield and be really assertive.

While you can't expect anything in certain games in this league, I'll be disappointed if we don't come away with three points, mitigating circumstances in the match aside.

I'd imagine Jose won't be able to help himself and he will likely tailor his game to Liverpool, Herrera likely coming in for a job on Coutinho and us playing 4-3-3 with Rashford and Mhiki out wide playing as auxiliary full backs, looking to try catch them on the break.

When really, should be going out with what we have been doing. Klopp looks like one of those managers that doesn't tailor his team to the opposition, so I'd have faith in our existing tactics and setups dealing with their threat, while being too much for them to handle when we attack.

All the talk, and in fairness it is the reality, is we have had an exceptionally easy start and this is our first test. Would be nice to put down a real statement by beating a rival.

Watching a vid there of United goals vs Liverpool. Been some really epic moments and goals in recent times. That Martial goal is still fantastic to rewatch.

Whatever my gripes about Martin Tyler in general commentary, he actually does make moments timeless and so much more meaningful :D
