    Hi,

I'm interested in finding out exactly how much Private 3* actually earn in our army, I've read lots of different numbers recently (anywhere from 20k to 40k)

    Thanks in advance :)

It varies depending on contracts and allowances.

A Pte 3* with 20yrs service will have a different salary than one that came into the DF in 2011 or 2013 etc.

You will then get specialist Pte 3* that are on additional Technical Pay depending on their employment.

So, define your question. Is it "how much is a Pte 3* on if he joined today?".

Yeah if he came out of training tomorrow, what would he be earning?

Just a quick note on this.

Due to the Landsdowne Road Agreement, personnel who joined post 2013 have been awarded a higher salary.

Up until the 29th of August 2017 the pay is €416.35.

I believe this kicks in from 30th August 2017 and will be €517.64.

The pay for a Recruit will be €390.31
The pay for a Pte 2* will be €457.04

If you are a Pte 3* you max out at €723.59 after 9 years service.
