    Hi,

was in a rush today and mistakenly transferred some money to an AIB account that is now closed. I assume the money will just bounce back to my account, or do i need to start a process to cancel the transaction?

    Hi there,

Welcome to Boards and thanks for your post.

If the payee account is closed, the funds should be returned to your account automatically.
It generally takes one business day to send a SEPA payment, so if you've requested this payment to be sent after 3:30 pm today, this will be processed on Monday.
The payment should then bounce back after one business day and be returned to your account by the third business day. If you don't see the payment being returned to your current account by this time, we'd advise that you call AIB and ask them to trace the it.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thanks again,
    Jane.
