I am looking at options for VR gaming laptops and have the following requirements...

    - 15.6"
    - GTX 1060/1070 GPU (preferable)
    - 16 GB RAM
    - i7 7700 CPU
    - 250 GB SSD
    - 1 TB HDD
    - Windows 10

Found the following so far on scan.co.uk...

    - 3XS laptop (GTX 1060) - £1,290

    - MSI laptop (GTX 1070) - £1,700

Apart from the graphics card and possibly better cooling on the MSI, they both seem fairly similar spec wise. I've never heard of 3XS though.

Thoughts on these specs, or any others I should look at?

    Thanks

3xs are scans own laptops I think, built on a common chassis (like clevo etc ). Would be similar to any other e-tailers who do custom laptops like pcspecialist who are also worth a look if you have decided on the spec

Cool, so much of a muchness who I go for once I've decided on the spec? Or do the brand ones have better cooling, etc?

There also this one I spotted by Asus on Amazon for £1,740

I think the 1070 is more future-proofed, so better to spend more now rather than trying to go budget and then need to upgrade again later.

If you want to future proof, build a PC.

Not an option unfortunately as I need a portable solution to bring with me on aircraft when I work abroad.
