    Howdy,

I'm looking to build an ESXi lab.
For the budget I'm hoping to get 64GB RAM I need at least two SSD drives for a cache tier and a capacity tier and as much CPU horsepower as budget allows.

I'm not overly fussy on how it looks case wise etc

    1. What is your budget? 1000e

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? ESXi Lab / Nested virtualisation.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes, But I'd rather avoid it.

    8. How can you pay? Flexible

    9. When are you purchasing? ASAP

    Dual CPU's included in sale

    2x Intel Xeon X5570 (8 cores total)
2x Intel Xeon L5640 (12 Cores in total)

72GB DDR3 RAM 18*4GB, one in every channel

    1 PSU
    PERC H700 Integrated RAID Controller

What would be a fair price ?

Been used as an ESXi 6.5 server. I believe 6.7 installs on (L5640) fine with the Dell spin of ESXi, even though not supported, fine for home lab

Only used 6.5 with X5570 myself
