Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone looking forward to the World Cup this year? I can't be arsed since they increased it to 128 teams and it takes 6 months to play the damn thing and what the hell were they thinking holding it in Oman, the last 6 of these things have been played in the f*cking desert.

God be with the days when it was 32 teams and it was in Europe at least every 8 years.

I can't believe for years and years we gave Ryan Tubridy so much stick!

Little did we know he'd turn out to be the greatest Irishman of all time!

    Cured cancer.
Won Gold at the 2028 Olympics in 400m hurdles.
Hosted the greatest chat show in history for 25 years.
Wisely invested the Apple money and secured annual returns of 25% on it.
Finally removed all remenances of the Ryan family from RTÉ.
Successfully removed all traces of JFK's extra marital affairs from written history.
Finally got the Protestants up north to smoke a joint and chilll the f**k out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,305 ✭✭✭✭branie2

And discovered that the CIA was behind JFK's assassination.

2042 sounds so sci-fi. Your mind wanders to thoughts of minimalist interior design, internet connected fridges and flying cars.

In reality, we'll still be talking about natural disasters, man-made ones, poverty, inequality, racial and religious conflict........ Maybe the only difference being we'll experience it in VR.

I saw a few tourists taking selfies in front of the Michael Collins statue in O'Connell street, where the Spire used to be. I'm glad the Spire was demolished, it was a complete eyesore.

And it was about time that the Big Fella was given such an honour of a statue in the main thoroughfare of his capital city

Yeah, putting his statue down in his native Cork was a terrible idea!! Who'd of thought they'd have torn the statue down and sold it for scrap? But then again, they did shoot him after all!

And then 'she' revealed that the previous 'apparition' had been caused by some bored physics students from the 27th century winding up the peasants and messing with the timeline for a laugh. Who had been caught by their professor and sent back to apologise at a time when humanity would be advanced enough to believe them...

In that case, someone from that time could have gone back to 1879 to stop the messers before the "vision" occurred.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,814 ✭✭✭sunbeam

Unfortunately that would not have been possible as technology would only have advanced to a point where you could project images into the past rather than physically sending people back. That wont happen until 3042 :D
