2.6mm here so far near Tralee and looks like heavy rain to come, might get a bit gusty soon too.

Temperature has been rising again this evening, now at 13.1C in a fresh SW wind. I expect a big drop off in temperature once the cold front goes through and the wind veers rapidly to the NW drawing down much colder air. A cold start tomorrow morning.

Hate it when it goes from mild wet night to cold dry morning - the car will be fogged up to Betsy unless the wind is still strong.

Just looking through the charts and saw a dog

Hopefully the rain will have passed tomorrow morning. Getting to work with no train tomorrow morning will be extra fun if it's raining.

Edit: I see a pig with the chart edit

After this and the last few years, can we just say Autumn is a nicer season than "Summer" in Ireland? It's been great so far, no wind or rain for the most part (apart from the storms!) but I love this calm weather. Summer just gone by was an awful mixture of blustery rainy windy conditions.

Mod Note : edited bad language out.

What a day here today, cloud cleared early to leave the sun shining in a clear blue sky with a chill in the air, just perfect

Just checked the temperature of the sky there with my new laser thermometer, and am getting a reading of -19.9c.:cool:

Days like this are a pain when you work outside - early cold, then mild, then warm in the sun, then chilly and now Baltic :pac:

Does it tell you the altitude that reading would be coming from?

Rising here too near Tralee, 7.1C now and raining. Some cold temperatures around the country this evening leading to widespread frost away from coasts.

A diminished Post Tropical Cyclone Nineteen possibly producing a decent amount of rain Fri eve and overnight into Sat. Not much mention of it on Met Eireann. Windy too along the coasts for a time. Sat see's the introduction of cooler air again from the NW.
