Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thinking of buying a new Arai RX 7V.

    Does anyone here have 1?

What are they like for comfort and wind noise?
Is it a heavy crash helmet?
And what is Arai build quality like?

    Thanks.:)

Any Arai is going to be a good helmet considering they cost 3X what any other helmet does.

Means nothing but yes, great lid as long as it fits right.

They are a savage lid but not worth the money TBH, I bought an Arai Quantum Italian Flag Series when launched and its a savage lid but the price of it!!! It was my 1st lid and 1st bike so I wanted to do it right, but no way I would pay that money again.

Why is arai so expensive? Is it something tangible like better materials, or is it just marketing?

Very high quality and a lot of sponsorship/marketing.

Something like an Arai Vector is a good helmet, at a good weight and price point. Both Arai and Shoei are quality brands that have several price points. I've used them, or a version thereof, for decades. Arai and Shoei are Japanese companies, and their products are made in Japan.

Arai were long thought to be the best helmets, as evidenced by so many front running racers at top level using them.

That said, several of the other major manufacturers, such as AGV and Shoei, are thought to have not only caught up, but eclipsed Arai in recent years.

Alas, the cost of an Arai has not reflected its position in the market.

That said, I had two RX7s on after the other, the mark IV, and loved them. Only reason I didn't get another was the price.

Went to a Shoei and can't complain.

No idea what the new arai is like but I went and got a shark lid last year after always having arais and after giving it a chance it was relegated to the spare lid and I went back to my ten year old arai .

    RX7 is racers helmet.

It will be loud and noisey
If you want a road going version of the Racers Helment, get yourself a
    Chaser-X
    QV-Pro
Quantum ST Pro (Discontinued, but still loads of stock)

I was going to buy the RX7 a few years back but it's just to noisey.
Often though about getting one "for the sake of it" but it's a lot of bread.

AFAIK after doing research when buying my Arai, every single Arai helmet is man made....with the very high quality materials.

But like other makers of helmets they are not suitable for all head shapes. I love Shoei but they just dont seem to fit my noggin!
