    Unbelievable

    What a lap by Hamilton.

Stroll starting P2 tomorrow, could be interesting.

That's great to see the rookies use their skill (as well as the merc power) to get them up there.

Maybe for 2nd. Unfortunately Hamilton will cruise off into the distance without being challenged the entire race. Bore.

Two rookies could also take out the king.

How far does vettel move up after the penalties

On a dry track tomorrow with a long run down to turn one and a tight first corner. It might not be a merc pressesion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,286 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

Ocon starting from third. He has a very good chance of getting his first podium tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Did any of you sit through all of it? I left after 45 mins of waiting (had stuff to do) but eventually caught up.

Ferrari didn't like the rain or something, poor performance from them at the end. Well done to Hamilton, phenomenal achievement to break the record.
Stroll and Ocon both did exceptionally well, Stroll even more so. I thought the Williams didn't like the wet! His lap was mega. Race should hopefully be good.

I was watching on Sky because I don't have access to eirsport, I'd rather gouge my ear drums out with rusty tea spoons than listen to David Croft for 5 hours. You deserve a medal.

    7th if I'm not mistaken.

Should be a fun start but it could be just Hamilton out front from the start and boring.

Alonso with 35 place penalty for what I don't know but if it's for parts changed who knows what he will do.:)
    Be like a new car.

Someone on C4 said he has so many panaltys he will have to start from Spa.:)

I also watched the whole thing or listened while I did other stuff, it's kind of rare to get delays like that so I actually enjoy the drama and atmosphere around it. Of course would have sucked if they eventually cancelled and ran on Sunday morning instead. Might have felt a bit different if it wasn't a rainy day and I had other stuff to do

Fonsy has a new everything by the looks of it!
    Internal combustion engine
    Turbocharger
    MGU-K
    MGU-H
    Energy store
    Control Electronics

    Honda are spectacularly terrible.

So your saying there is a chance he will finish the race..:)

It's cr@p they have on at different times Sky and C4.

I'll have to avoid news stations tomorrow.

Wow that was some qualifying session.. Stunning la by Hamilton and amazing achievement by him to break the all time pole record and set a new one.
Great lap by Lance Stroll too. Should be a great lap tomorrow.

Stoffel Vandorne has been doing very good at qualifying in the last few races to even beating Alonso. While Alonso has been moaning about the engine Stoffel just seems to be getting on with it and giving it 110%

The two Saubers qualified in there highest position this year so far. I don,t think they will stay there long when the race starts do.

    Two things we learned today

    1. The Ferrari,s do not like wet tracks

    2. The Williams do and actually work better on wet tracks.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Joeface

Sky had it today that if Stoffel Vandorne took all his penalties so far this today he would start 1km behind pole.

    Crazy.

Alonso moaning about the engine that keeps blowing up.:)

What he seems to have tomorrow is a new test car.
He has some patients with that team.

It's well broadcast, if it stayed wet it'd have been better.

I'm getting to the stage where I now switch channels over Hamilton.

One thing that came out of the long break yesterday was the interview on sky with Christian Horner.

He said that Red Bull have a veto on who Renault can supply engines to.

So they could stop them supplying McLaren if it was in Red Bulls best interests.

He said Ron Dennis did it to them, in 2007 I think.

Perez is suppose to take a grid penalty now. Gear box change. Not sure he will actually move with all the other penalties.

I think the teams now pull a mickey on the FIA

I love that Kimi says that he'll love F1 as long as the driving part is the main part. I like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭Harika

So sainz has a 10 grid place penalty but starts one place up as with all the other penalties lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

This grid penalty stuff has to be sorted. It's a joke at this stage. I mean yes have penalties to stop the teams taking the royal piss out of changing parts on the cars but giving grid penalties greater than the number of grid spots is pointless.
