Built-in wardrobes & stippled ceilings

Hi there, we have built-in wardrobes (20 years old; we moved in last year) and stippled ceilings in the bedrooms. We want to do two things and I'm wondering what order to do them in:

    - Cover the stippled ceilings, probably with new plasterboard (?)
    - Change either the wardrobes or, if it's possible, keep the carcasses and get new doors for the wardrobes

Do we have to remove the wardrobes to plaster the ceilings? Given that the ceiling with then be a little lower, are the existing wardrobe carcasses useless afterwards?

Pictures of the existing wardrobes would be helpful.

Normally if they are carcase built, then its easy to drop the height.

Equally if its inbuilt frame and doors, then its also easy to change the height.

    Need more input ( pics)

There is lots of room over the doors to lower the ceiling . The doors look like standard sizes , so there should be no problem changing them

Looks like you have plenty of room to drop the ceiling without interfering with the door heights.
Looks like about a 125ishmm plinth on top of the door height.
