Quays closed Monday (4/9/17)

Anyone know what's going on there? All the council seem to say is that they'll be closed from 1PM. No indication for how long either.

I can only assume it's for the Waterford hurling team should they be successful on Sunday!

Correct, for the hurling team's homecoming, win or lose! It's at 6pm at the plaza.

Its for the Homecoming of the (Hopefully) successful Waterford Hurling Team. Its happening at the Clock tower I think.

Sorrie for butting in big fan of deise boys watched/being to games but would anyone from waterford/deise like the council too provide more on our big day the quay should be mager abstraction and hats off too dungarven for there electricaty

Sense this post does not make.

There are 4 big screens in the city on Sunday, plus 1 in Dungarvan all in places built by the council. The event on the Quays is the only official homecoming for the Team, there will be none in Dungarvan.

The Homecoming Ceremony will be held on The Quays in Waterford City and access to the viewing area will be open to the public from 4.30pm onwards. The Quay and all quay car parks will be closed to traffic from 2pm onwards and diversion routes will be clearly marked.

A little confusing .....

Don't be confused John, just don't try to drive onto the quay on Monday afternoon

The reason they haven't said yet when it'll reopen is presumably because they haven't decided yet. The size of the crowd and how long festivities go on is hugely dependent on the outcome of another event taking place today...
