Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I know they say you have to be over 18 to become a Garda, I'm currently 19 and I'm through to stage 3 with oom of 87, I will complete my level 6 course in may and will have 2 years college experience, I've spent 2 summers in America and aboard and have " life experience" but I would still only be 19/20 next year if I was to get offered a place in templemore and I'm just worried my age might go against myself ?

Does anyone have an idea of the youngest Garda trainee? Or what age they see as a minimum ?
    Thanks

I know a 19 year old who passed the interview last year, so I reckon you're alright. It could even be to your advantage. With the moratorium there were probably lots of older people applying and with a retirement age of 60, there will be lots of people not able to give the full 30 - 40 years service.

around that age bracket myself and have everything complete just waiting for the call for an intake.

It's up to yourself and how you feel about it? I'm not bothered about an age difference. Everyone has something to bring!

Focus on passing your interview and see how it goes😊

hey Aaron. I'm only 20. I'm sure your okay!
I'm still in the process of trying to become a guard. Waiting on results for stage 2 to progress.. I'm sure they'll have no problem at all about your age , once you meet all the requirements . I know a friend of a friend who's only starting training . He's only like 20-21 so mining to worry about. Hope that helps.

Potentially be in a position to retire on full pension at 49, after 30 years service?

    Score!
