    Hi guys,

I am new in the forum ; I 'd like to have your advices for a new home alarm system I am planning to buy.

I live in a new, pre wired house. 3 bed , semi, 2 floors; I am not interested in any wireless systems.

Could you please share Plus and Minus on these Hybrid I heard:

    -Risco LightSYS 2
    -HKC SW 1070

and maybe suggest some other explaining advantages/ disadvantages compared to those two.

    Thanks a lot

Almost all wired systems are hybrid now.
The main downside with the Lightsys is the wired zones are not analysed for shock sensors.
The HKC does most of what you want but runs the most expensive to run apps on.
I'd also recommend looking at the GSD i1070 and Siemens Vanderbilt SPC 4320.
See the sticky on app comparisons for more details.

Cant fault the 10/70 as a reliable alarm install.
As mentioned above they do have a chargeable app with remote control of the system.
Id advise using the sim version in conjunction with the wifi card for self monitoring the system.
Far to many rely on a wifi connection to offer a free service.

    Thank You Koolkid and Altor,

could you please both share with all the new buyers, and based on your experience,
one by one the advantages and disadvantages (costs, reliability, app, GSM, sirens, more...) of the :
    - GSD i1070
    - Siemens Vanderbilt SPC 4320
    - HKC 1070

compared to the Risco LightSYS 2

    - How much HKC charge on a monthly / year base for app , subscriptions , more... if you go for self monitored ?

Does HKC still has problems with Android phones apps ?

    - When I ll have a garden shed , could I /they add a wireless sensor to the Risco LightSYS , and what about the others?

-Could you confirm that Risco LightSYS does not recognize yet shock/inertia sensors? How could you walk around that issue?

Sorry for all this questions, is a bit of a drama to get these info from a sales person, and for some reason small installer don't like RISCO
; could you please share if you had many issues with LightSYS that come from a big , global company .

    Thanks a lot

    Hi

Unfortunately many sales reps & many companies only install or want you to buy one system.
All these systems conform to EN50131& I would find no difference in reliability from one to the other. Those interested in selling you one brand will always tell you the others are less reliable or of a lower quality etc.

The down side to each are.
Risco LightsSYS : No analysed hardwired zones unless you use 3rd party equipment. No ability to wire from wireless sensor for multiple openings.
Siemens Vanderbilt : No Wireless Shock Sensors Yet. Still awaiting Push Notification for Android app . (Due in October)
HKC - Only Paid for options for Apps & usage. Dearer & lower poll times compared to free or cheaper alternatives.
GSD i1070 : Still awaiting Text alerts from app,

The Up side to each are.
Risco LightSYS : Nice touch screen keypads. Option of wireless bells. Nice app with Good CCTV PiRs. Option of Free Apps & Usage
Siemens Vanderbilt : Nice Touch Screen Keypads.Fastest polling available on any system. Multiple ATS comms Paths possible for multiple back ups.Browser access as well as app. Email alerts as well as push notifications.Managed text alerts available with commands in. Cause & effect programming for home automation etc.
HKC. Does most of the basic stuff . Can wire from one wireless sensor to other wired sensors/contacts. Wireless Keypad Options. Text Alerts on App
GSD i1070 :Faster polling than most. Option of free apps & usage. Paid for apps are cheaper & faster polling than HKC

Some Comparisons on free & paid for app charges from HKC & GSD

    Hi Koolkit,
Thanks a lot to share this with us.
Would you explain the below to me please (for LightSYS) ?

'No analysed hardwired zones unless you use 3rd party equipment"
I am not sure what does it means.

It means that wired shock sensors will not work with the Lightsys panel.

    .

I've recently be quoted €120 for the annual SecureComm service so am interested to know what I'll be getting for that. Are these prices freely available online (other than on an anonymous forum?)

I am not sure what does it means.

An analysed expander can be added for shock sensors to the LightSYS system.

I'm following this thread to help me decide what I need for my house, and I have a question about robot vacuum cleaners and PIRs. Is there a specific set-up I should be looking at in order to run the vacuum while the alarm is armed?

Any of the panels above will take shock sensors, you just have to buy the correct type.
Here are a few, Risco Shocktec, Texecom Impaq and the Honeywell Vipers.
We've installed thousands of the vipers and find them very reliable.

Its really a case of trial and error on the settings of a PiR. Will these be wired or wireless PiRs? Duel Tec,if possible, would give you more control.

My PIRs don't pick up my medium sized dogs as they are not aimed at the floor
