    Hi,

Looking to set up surround sound in my living room.

    Looking at this receiver: http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202081-rxv581.aspx#tabProductDetails-tab

    And these speakers: http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11012-s-hs100.aspx#tabSpecifications-tab

Will there be any problems using these two together?

Also, because of the layout of my living room I'll have to position the AV receiver ~5m worth of cable distance away from the TV (unfortunately the receiver is too tall to fit in my tv unit :( ). I'll be connecting 2 x HDMI and 1 x Optical connection, do you see any problem with this working? I guess it's not that uncommon to do this, and the only weird thing will be having to point the AV remote at a different corner of the room?

    Cheers! :)

Probably should mention that 1 of the HDMIs is an Xbox One and the other is a Virgin Horizon Box. The optical will be from the TV (for Netflix etc).

    So it'll be:

    Xbox - - - 5m HDMI - - -> AV Receiver - - - 5m HDMI - - -> TV

    Same for the horizon box.

    Hi awec,

Unfortunately the Yamaha is out of stock and is only available for in store collection. The Pioneer SHS100 have also been out of stock for a while and we do not have an ETA fir this.

Were there any other speakers you had your eye on?

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

Ah is there no way to get the Yamaha delivered? I don't mind paying for that :( . I can't find other receivers with similar features (bluetooth, airplay etc) at that price point, do you have any I'm not seeing?

How do http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202313-deno-sys2020-blk.aspx compare to the Pioneer speakers?

    Hi Awec.

Unfortunately once a product goes in store only online we are unable to ship these products. We do try to bend the rules for boardies but I can not on this product, sorry.

    Might the Denon AVRX540BT suit?
Priced at £249.00 - No AirPlay but does have bluetooth.

The Denon speakers mentioned above are much much better the the little Pioneer ones.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks Kenny, no problem about not bending the rules. :)

The Denon doesn't have Dolby Atmos, but I am curious how much content there is that actually uses this. I'll be mostly using it for TV, Netflix and gaming, do you think this is is something I'd miss?

Also, do you see any issues with the setup I mentioned above (specifically the cable length)?

    Hi Awec,

There are quite a few titles available on Dolby Atoms, you can find a list of them all here:

    https://www.dolby.com/us/en/experience/dolby-atmos/bluray-and-streaming.html

I would recommend the AVRX2400 if you are interested in Atmos as it has Airplay, Bluetooth, Atmos and networking features. They also sound amazing.

The length of cables shouldn't be an issue so long as they are good quality and designed for longer distances.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hey David,

I see the Yamaha is showing in stock again on the site, is this correct?

Also can you clarify what cabling comes with the Denon speakers (https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202313-deno-sys2020-blk.aspx) ?

It says "Speaker Cable 30m & 3m RCA Sub cable". Does this mean I get 1 x 30m cable that I have to cut up into 5 myself?

    Hi awec,

We are showing these as available to buy but I have checked stock and we are still out of stock i'm afraid. There are none in the warehouse available for shipping.

The SYS2020 speakers come with a 30m lenth of cable that you cut yourself depending on your measurements and a 3m subwoofer cable.

    Kind regards

    David
