    Hello,
I am a student in Ireland. I am a gay and I love my boyfriend and we want to marry.
But since I have only study and work visa in Ireland, and he on the other side is back in home country.
So, both of us are not Irish nationality, can we still get legally married in Ireland??
We both are 24 years of age.
    Thanks

My understanding is that you can, however you will need to abide by all the legal aspects which includes giving 3 months notice in person (both of you) to marry here.

Have a look at that links and I'd advise making contact with the registrar in your local area to check also. There is a Weddings forum here which probably has more information on the ins and outs of marriage and weddings than the LGBT forum, I can move your post there if you would like?

It can take up to 6 months to find an appointment to marry in Dublin

Even if you marry, depending on your visa he may have no entitlement to reside here.

An important point to consider is that a divorce takes 4 years in Ireland minimum if it does not work out. What you want at 24, might be very different from what you want at 30. That is important to consider

Where does he live? You're a 24 year old student who loves and wants to marry someone who is not resident in this country? Is this an immigration scam of some sort? If so I would STRONGLY advise against trying to do this. Chances of being caught are actually very high and the consequences can be very severe.
