I absolutely love the drama she creates, I don't want her to go because of it, but she was crap. I didn't hear/read a thing about her all week so didn't realise what had happened. Jason let himself down by selling stories about her. Tut tut, not very professional. She was right to say it. It has backfired on him by the looks of it. Looks like everyone's against him. Loved Holly's West Side Story comment!

Missed it on Sunday but just watched the clip where GC told the judge off.
Nice to see him stuck for words for once anyway. :D

That's brilliant Retro! Hopefully we'll have more of it over the coming weeks.

I'm no fan of Gemma and I do think she has been really unprofessional so far but I am glad she put Jason in his place. He's even more nasty than usual this year, I get that's his role but it makes for uncomfortable viewing at times. His scores have been absolutely ridiculous as well.

She strikes me as the type of wan that would be livid watching himself and the professional skater hottie spending all that time together. Didn't one of the judges say they had great chemistry? Hard to see those two lasting anyway.

Any news on GC and Jason this week? Any behind the scene meltdowns?

Yeah, I can't say I believe that wasn't deliberately done.

Melody and Wes for the final :)

    I still like Gemma :D

What a pain in the hoop Gemma Collins is. Always the victim. Always claiming to be the hardest working person in the room whilst doing f all.

Every week it's another five minutes of my life I won't get back.

Complete waste of time (and breath, on her part).

Matt deserves a sainthood for putting up with all that dramatics and emoting week after week.

Wes is brilliant. Melody's dance was a bit meh for me this week, didn't really get it. But no doubting she's good.

Saira while I admire her is getting a bit boring with the hanging on to Mark for dear life and spending 2/3 of each dance up in a lift.

Bryan is slowly calming down (a bit, anyway), nice to see him improving.

I absolutely love the people voting for Gemma :D

To be honest the best dancers tonight were Wes and James

Gemma is absolutely pants but she’s the only reason I’m watching :D

God she brings me out in a rash

And if she dares come out complaining or moaning next week after what happened Jayne this week..... (serious kudos to Jayne for dancing!)

    Haven't got to James yet.

Saara's dance was great, not sure about Jason's 9, and she just doesn't seem to be attracting the public vote at all - a combination of being a furriner and maybe perceived to be a bit of a jockey?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,038 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Ah FFS

Gemma now taking places off people who are FAR better skaters. The joke's over, sunshine.

Unfortunately a significant number of idiots in the voting public will keep her there because they think her antics are funny. Personally I think anyone who finds her anything other than excruciating needs a transorbital lobotomy, but anyway.

There's a huge gulf after opening up between the good skaters and everyone else. James, Wes, Melody and - to a lesser extent - Saara might as well be in a different competition to everyone else (although I did feel like I must have watched a different performance from Saara last night than the judges, I thought she was very shaky). Out of the couples that were in the skate-off, Saira deserved to go. Jane will probably be next. Brian and Ryan are improving, but too slowly and I think they'll plateau soon. Gemma should never have been there in the first place, but I still think she'll quit before the public get around to voting her off.

I'd say it's killing Gemma that she's still in, she never looks happy when her name is announced. She doesn't seem to be enjoying the competition at all

Who’s voting for Gemma? Hope she goes next week!

Yep. I imagine she's not a fan of actually having to work and put effort in.

People are voting or her to see what she does next... she's sh but she breeds controversy.

Only caught up last night, and that is so true. She didn't seem one bit happy to be staying in the competition.

    Was it on tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,038 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

It was, just finished watching, and ask I can say is thanks be to gawd for small mercies.

Thought Jason was very mean in his comments giving his decision though, no need to be quite so pointed.

Even Gemma managed to be quite restrained and magnanimous in her comments throughout the show tonight (apart from the "I may not be the best skater but I've come out every week and given entertainment" - eh, not to me you haven't, love).

As much as he annoys me, fair play to Brian doing that routine with an injured back, I could feel mine twanging just watching him

I was the same, don't know how they 'push through' when in pain. I wouldn't last a minute! I almost felt sorry for him when he dropped his partner (Brandi??). Two going next week, competition is hotting up nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

The right 2 went tonight and Wes and James have the final to themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,038 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Gemma obviously dominating this chat as well - not a peep out of anyone since she left  :D

I'm assuming that Wes and Vanessa have got it together off the ice as well as on the ice at this stage? Hard to see past him for the title tbh. But when he did that splits jump all I could think of was that Ray fella a few years back - Jason was right, do it properly or don't do it at all.

I'd love to know how much weight Bryan has lost since this started! He's an absolutely shadow of his former self! And has come on in leaps and bounds to be fair, and is not half as painful now that he's letting his skating do the talking.

Saara I still can't take to - something about her personality just grates on me, and her solo skate was poor compared to even Bryan's...

James coming up now, I'm presuming he'll be brilliant as always.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,038 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Hah, as I suspected!

Did I not see him half stumble as he skated backwards in the solo bit, or did I imagine that? Whether that was actually worth deducting .5 or not I'm not sure (clearly not!)

I know everyone gives him a hard time over being a dancer, but he couldn't skate at all when this started and by golly he can now, he has easily the best speed over the ice when he's solo of the lot of them. He wouldn't be my favourite by a long shot but he's taken to skating like the proverbial duck.

Call me cynical, but I always thought he was faking the bad skating in the early rounds. They probably wanted someone like him in it so they could get out the 10s ala Strictly.

Yep Im not a fan of our Brian but that was hard. And his parents had over for the weekend to see him. Did she fall or was it him - missed the start of the bit?

I didn't pay proper attention to either but I think James is the better of the two. Their synchronicity is incredible.

Anyone watching the launch show? (Is there another thread that I've missed??)

Nearly missed it, but catching it on +1.

Looks like a cracking lineup this year - the last one, I think :(:(

Wouldn't it not be harder for her to skate and dance with her disabilities

I'd have said practically impossible! Not to mention the stress on the poor guide dog, who looks like she'll need counselling after this

Gemma Collins irritation was much relieved by the demented twitching of Candice sitting beside her in the audience, clearly being driving over the edge by the histrioncs :D
