Awwww, that sleigh-ride dance with the kids was absolutely gorgeous!

(and that's coming from the ultimate non-kiddy-loving grinch!)

How did barrowman age 20 years between opening titles and show.

That's what getting yer hair dyed grey will do for ya!! I was amazed at how small he is (although it could be that Ashley is hugely tall) at the closing credits!

My early money is on Perri, he has a look of Ray Quinn about him even at this stage (and my goodness, Ray Quinn hasn't lost it!)

Love how Trisha said at least three times that she's 62, but Michael Barrymore never mentioned that he's 67..... for that reason alone, I hope he lasts longer than she does!

I've had more than enough of Maura already, and the series hasn't even started :(

Cant stand Maura or Trisha. Think my favourites would be perri and definitely Michael Barrymore.

    I have to say I don’t miss Jason :)

Perri is the one to watch

    Yayy, someone else is watching!

I'm behind because I foolishly switched to DWTS for a bit (won't be making that mistake again!)

Agree Perri is up there. But there's a few others who might give him a run for his money (can't remember who though, there might have been a glass or two of vino consumed during the Christmas show last night :p)

Utterly sick of John Barrowman already. And Maura.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Is Trisha 62, by any chance??

    Shutupshutupshutup Barrowman :mad::mad:

John barrowman is easily the biggest attention seeker ever.

Anybody tuning in to this these days?

Have to say I'm enjoying it - no horror shows this time, thank goodness.

Although Maura was looking a bit mutinous at her scores just now (I'm a bit behind)!!

WTF is the story with Caprice???? Did she just sack her pro or what? I googled furiously last week and it was like Omerta had been applied! Haven't got around to it this week between eating dinner, watching and posting!!

I'm still watching it as I much prefer it over DWTS

Lisa was great tonight and I can't wait for Perri to perform :) They all seem to be great this year

I'm only on Libby at this stage.....her scores are getting a bit more realistic at last.

Now don't get me wrong, she's fkn incredible to be doing this at all (I can't even skate hanging on to the barrier, or couldn't when I last tried about 30 years ago!) - but she needs to be judged on her actual skating at some point, not her heroism - which I think was nearly the case tonight. She's still the weakest skater by some distance I think (not having seen most of the others yet, mind you) - Ashley at least gave some realistic criticism.

I sound like a complete bitch saying that, I'm sure - and I don't mean to! I am in awe of her doing this in the first place.

I'd say Perri has to be a shoo-in to win, he's head and shoulders above everyone else. Reminds me of Ray Quinn - nobody was ever going to catch him either. Hope I haven't jinxed him now, saying that!!!

    Haha, Lisa was BRILLIANT!!!!

Perri just coming up for me, can't stand Caprice!!

Ooooh, meowwwwwwww from Brianne there for poor Kevin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

And Perri was awesome, as expected!

There were one or two lifts in there that were feather-light - incredible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I've no idea if the show is over yet - but I'd be willing to bet money that Caprice gets dumped no matter how well she skates, for ditching Hamish.......

has anyone heard what actually happened?

I haven't heard anything only that she had a new partner tonight. Oohh results time

Ah, delighted to see that Joe did well with the other Alex (I really love her!) - from the clips it looks like he only had 24 hours or so to get the routine down with her - that is no mean feat!!

I'd have guessed at Maura, Kevin, Radzi or Caprice to be in the skateoff - they're all much of a muchness in terms of standard really.

But I really hoped Caprice would be gone once she was in it.

Oh well, there's always next week!

And I'll eat my hat if Perri doesn't romp home in the end. (Deservedly so, I might add!)

    Radzi

Spoilered for people watching even later than me

I read one report that Caprice was being a diva, that she was "difficult" and put Hamish down in front of other contestants and crew.

I also read that Caprice is going to sue ITV for bullying.

    Just caught up last night.
I'm sorry to see Radzi gone. There was something very likeable and endearing about him, in my opinion.

She seems like quite the heartbreaker, even allowing for all the romantic liaisons that seem to develop on these shows! Hope for Kev's sake it's the real deal...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

Ah I'm delighted for them :)

I do not understand why they still do the headbanger. It’s a banned move in professional skating. I can’t even watch it when they do it, and it doesn’t even look pretty! Someone is going to get seriously hurt attempting it at some stage. I had visions of Maura’s head splitting open across the ice. Loved her doing her practice in her dressing gown however :pac:

Oh I know, it petrifies me, I can't watch it. I keep thinking it's going to go wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Jeepers, poor Joe tonight - he looked like he was going to be sick or faint or something - fair play to him actually going out and performing in the circumstances. Even Philip nearly lost it saying his few words at the start.

Good on them all, making the show go on.

Maura is doing herself no favours whatsoever throwing strops every time her scores are lower than what she thinks she deserves - those antics so soon after Joe skating just make her look awful, like a sulky brat.

Speaking of Joe - what's happened to his original partner Alexandra? She's there every week, dressed up in glittery skating outfits, but there's no mention of her ever, or her recovery (or not) from whatever injury happened to her. In fact, what DID happen to her? Did they ever say?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Ooooh, there'll be killings backstage after them giving Ben 4 9's for the headbanger

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

Joes partner had an injury which is why she was replaced. Kinda surprised at the skate off tonight

Yeah, I remember them saying that she had an injury - but they usually say what happened, and I don't remember them saying or showing what had happened to her. And they haven't so much as mentioned her since!

Poor Lisa - it was all going soooo well! Class ending though, and at least she seemed to take it in good heart and have a laugh at it all :D

Haven't got to the skate off yet.... Perri upcoming, can he beat Ben's score (of course he can!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Lovely to see Perri dancing with his hair let loose!

They managed that trolley brilliantly in fairness - how on earth did Vanessa managed to get herself up and onto it by herself twice??? That's a feat in itself!

    Oh ffs!

Maura (as much as I give out about her antics) was by far the stronger skater in that skate-off - Libby, I know she's blind, I know she's brave, I know she's brilliant, I know yadda yadda yadda - but she's being given a pass every single week, and I'm sorry but Maura should not have gone out instead of her on that skate. Having said that, her reaction was a leeeeetle over the top!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

Yea I was surprised that they sent them home. Perri is still miles above the rest

Yes, I though they were amazing!

Barrowman is really annoying going on and on about Perri not smiling, FFS. Is that the best he has to offer by way of a criticism

John Barrowman is painful, a case of an empty vessel making the most noise.

Perri was miles ahead of the others tonight and I'm not surprised at who left. Luke Evans is a good singer :)

Haven't watched yet, but I agree. He has to be the winner. I think he is fantastic. I look forward to seeing his performance every week.

Had a quick peek online to see who was in the skate off and who went home. :)

Last week was the first time I wouldn't have agreed with this, I've given out all along about the marks she was getting, but I think she skated as well and better than Lisa in the skate off last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Hmmm, further to the above - interesting to see how she copes with this week's challenge, skating half the routine alone, given she's effectively blind

(I'm 40 mins behind, only watching ther first skate now)
