Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From what I see of it, it's primarily a vanity quest. It consists of people attempting to gain followers so they can share pictures of their Quad Grande, Non Fat, Extra Hot Caramel Macchiatos from Starbucks.

It's function is the same as most social media sites - to make people's lives appear less mundane than they actually are.

From what I can tell it's a site that makes pictures taken on your new phone look like thirty year old faded, dirt encrusted Polaroid photos.

Eh, it's a platform for people to create an image of themselves and project it. Much of what's on there is far removed from reality.

I don't get the hatred towards such apps which cater to human nature (i.e. vain and attention-seeking); hate the player, not the game.

It's a strange thing is Instagram. Some very vain narcissistic types on there who seem only too delighted to show pictures of themselves half in the nip. There's also lots of people like Dublin footballers, Vogue Williams, Pippa O'Connor etc who use it cleverly to create a fan base and exploit it to the max for commercial gain. Loads of pictures of famous rugby players posing with their new pair of Nike boots thanking Nike for sorting them out for free. Famous people with large amounts of followers are paid handsomely for even mentioning their products in their posts. They are seen as influencers who lead and we will follow. So the next time you see Vogue Williams posing with her new fancy dan hat on instagram you get bet your arse she didn't pay for it.

Instagram Stories addresses that, so you get to see them in motion now.

Its possible to photoshop videos too and its not even hard to learn apparently, most of my female friends who use instagram do that. Its also possible to use 3rd party apps to edit posts before posting them on snapchat I'm not sure how it works though because I don't use it.

That is exactly what people use it for (clever people that is). Make money. Free advertising with a personal touch.

you can also use hashtags the same way as Twitter and your posts will appear under whichever category. Its is easy to find related accounts to follow and who are interested in what you post. There is a business version which has a high reach of viewers which can be accessed if you do a $5 campaign. You can also promote your posts to a relevant audience. If you can weed out the junk, its great.

    I'd still ride her though.

It is what you want to make of it. I take a lot of photos and its a good place to share them. I follow a lot of other photographers around Ireland and farther a field who do great work. But if you want you can just follow celebrities and get nothing but ads in your feed I guess.

I follow photography pages and good art pages, I think it's good. But you do get the half naked people showing off their bodies every 10 seconds. Seriously how do they get anything done in the gym
